Introduction Paragraph The 20th amendment, or the lame duck amendment, doesn't sound like a big amendment, but it is very important in electing the United States President. The 20th amendment, (That was ratified on January 23, 1933), lets the new voted in president to be inaugurated in January, much earlier than what it used to be, in March. The Cause Paragraph The 20th amendment helps U.S. citizens by having a stronger president for a longer amount of time. This happens because the leaving president, (Lame Duck), won't have to worry about leaving office all the way to March.
