When choosing a career I would rather choose a field I enjoy rather than a job that has a high income. If I’m going to have this job for the majority of my life, I would prefer it to be something that I enjoy rather than it just being for the money. Because I enjoy doing creative things, I chose makeup artistry. I enjoy the process of transforming someone and using the products to change the way someone looks. Most would say the job consists of girly girls who can’t succeed in anything beside the art of looking pretty, however makeup artistry requires a great amount of skill and patience. The cost for beauty school can be costly, depending on the program and the area you live; it can reach from $15,000 – 20,000 (makeup artist magazine, 2014). To help with the costs several schools offer financial aid. Other schools help students find money through grants or low-interest loans. After completing the amount of hours required, its important to begin planning for the next step; your job. Many beauty schools help place their students in salons after they graduate and receive their cosmetology license from the state. Several schools work closely with salons in the communities nearby and the salons benefit by having an immediate source of trained and motivated stylists to hire. You as a student and employee benefit by having plenty of potential job right after graduation.
