Executive Summary
The American Red Cross, a non-profit organization is implementing a new industry standard system called BioArch to track and process its blood products. The new infrastructure will improve the quality of its blood products since employees will be able utilize products based on inventory and age. The system also improves the product tracking process currently in place and it promises to improve customer relations since most competitors are already using the BioArch system. Currently, systems regionally are different and therefore inventory is kept separate. This creates challenges in meeting customer demands and it increases manufacturing manual processes.
Research. BioArch is the new industry standard being used in the market to track and process blood products. Companies such as Blood Source, Delta Blood Bank and United Blood Services are some of our main competitors. These not-for-profit companies are currently processing their blood products for their customers through BioArch. Some of our customers like, Kaiser Permanente, Cedars-Sinai and the University of Southern California are processing their blood products through BioArch as well.

Toxic Sludge is designed to shock readers by stressing the negative side of each circumstance; even though the information presented is a left wing point of view I do believe the work is a justifiable criticism of the PR industry because the tactics used were harmful to American democracy and in some cases the health and wellbeing of the public at large. According to an analysis by Dr. Donn Tilson, accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), not all PR practitioners utilize such tactics, however, many do and that type of PR poses a threat to democratic values, he goes on to state, “it is ultimately a manifestation of the deeper contradictions in corporate America...the road back to a truly democratic society lies in educating ourselves about the power of propaganda in our lives” (Tilson, 1997). As the general public continues to educate itself about the practices (good and bad) in the field of PR it is even more important that our firm maintain professional procedures that are in-line with the PRSA code of ethics.
On April 9th, 2014, The American Cancer Society sponsored Relay For Life in support of people who have battled cancer, who have lost loved ones, and who will continue to fight against the disease. This event was suitable for our Tobacco team because it allowed us to educationally campaign the harmful dangers that are correlated with smoking or chewing tobacco. After several meetings of preparing, our group was able to attend Relay For Life and achieve effective tobacco awareness activities, interactions, results, and analytical data. Beginning with our first activity, Dear Tobacco, our idea was to get students to actively participate in voicing their opinions/ experiences on the use of tobacco whether it is positive or negative by writing a letter to the tobacco companies. Preparing for Dear Tobacco was very simple because the only supplies needed were clipboards, paper, and pens. In the beginning, it was tricky attracting participant’s to complete the activity but as a group we had to make it clear that this was an activity where they could be known or unknown, positive or negative, explicit or implicit, and that they could write as short as a word or as long as an essay. The purpose of Dear Tobacco was to give the participants the opportunity to express their opinions/ experiences on tobacco without any restrictions. As students were doing their laps around the room, our group had to be creative but yet quick in how we could pull in the audience before they would walk right past us. Luckily, we had several chances so if anybody tried to disregard us, we would try something new and get them involved the next time they came around. It is important to know how the Red Cross began. It was in June 1859 when Henry Dunant went to Solferino, north of Italy. He was a spectator of a small but bloody war. French and Italians had a battle against Austrians. There were more or less 40,000 victims. He was completely horrified with the scene. He interrupted his trip to help the hurt and organized volunteers to save lives.
Edward L. Bernays deserves recognition far greater than that which he receives. "The father of spin" documents the career of Edward Bernays, the man himself and the monumental findings that precede him. Bernays not only fathered public relations as we know it he also shaped molded and embodied ideal practices of public relations and spin in everything that he did.

Advertisements and images are powerful tools of media that can be effectively used to persuade people. The Australian Red Cross publicizes a very simple, yet powerful image that attempts to directly speak to its viewers. A subsect of the International Red Cross, the Australian Red Cross, is a humanitarian organization that is dedicated to help people who are in need. It depends on the citizens of the world to support its lifesaving services and programs. The Red Cross values the time, blood, and money that people donate to the organization (Principles). By placing emphasis on certain parts of the advertisement and then instilling pathos through the use of colors, the Australian Red Cross attempts to solicit donations by stressing that one type of donation can be more useful than another.

The discipline of public relations is a modern profession which has been in existence for only close to a century; however, it has already taken an important role in the fields of business, government, entertainment and non-profit organizations including educational institutions and healthcare organizations. Public relations professionals are required to have excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills and have the ability to persuade the public. It is imperative for PR professionals to effectively communicate with its public in order to establish and maintain a positive relationship. Furthermore, public relations professionals must have the ability to work under pressure and effectively manage crisis which may have detrimental effect on the company and the public it serves. It is undeniable that Inventory Management is an important key to success at Walmart. This paper will discuss the two main methods of Inventory Management used by Wal-Mart: Material Requirements Planning and Just-in Time. Next we write about the technical means of keeping track of inventories, like RFID tags. We conclude by discussing how Wal-Mart, one of the world’s largest retailers, manages its inventories. Material Requirements Planning (MRP) Walmart needs to make sure that consumers are satisfied all the time, not only with the quality of service being provided to them, but with the quality of the product they are planning.

What is Public Relations (PR)? PR is difficult to define because it encompasses so many areas and today has developed into a multi-million dollar industry influencing all aspects of our lives (Adams et al, 1999). However, it is important to be able to compare and contrast the various definitions in order to have a complete understanding of what public relations is and how it is used. The public is a large population to consider, making it easier to understand why it is so difficult to define PR. Along with a large population come many perceptions, beliefs, ideas, and opinions, all influences on PR. I define public relations as the act/s used by individuals, corporations, and groups to influence ones opinions and/or decisions about a product, idea, person/s, company/s, etc. and the public. Robert L. Heath defines PR as functions of management/supervisors that foster an organization's ability to strategically listen to, appreciate, and respond to those persons who's mutually beneficial relationships with the organization are necessary if it is to achieve its missions and values (Health, 2007)'.
Today, public relations is a complex profession by thousands of thousands of people all the world to practice. Almost all large and small organizations have their own public relations department or they need to outsource their public relations to a company. Public relations practitioners work for schools and universities, companies, governments, professional and trade associations, hospitals, hotels, non-profit charities, and other else more (Grunig, 2001). Therefore, PR is an important department for organizations.
