Temperaments
Temperaments are something we are all born with. They display personality traits like attitudes, personal values, and talents. We can not change our temperament. It is what makes us who we are. We should be thankful God has given us different temperaments. A temperament is the the combination of inborn traits that subconsciously affect man’s behavior. Each temperament has its strengths , challenges, Qualities, and shortcomings. The four temperaments are melancholy, Phlegmatic, choleric, and sanguine. The four temperaments were originated in ancient times. They were originally known as the four humors.
We are created in the image of God. “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created him.” God has given your your temperament for a specific purpose. God has a plan and purpose for our life, so be thankful God made you like he did.
The first temperament is melancholy. Melancholies are introverted sensitive perfectionistic. They have unrealistically high standards for themselves, and others. They want things to be a certain way, and when they are not they get distressed. Many people with a Melancholy temperament wish to understand the details of everything in life. The reason is because to be uninformed is to stray from perfection. They assume the worst out of situations.They are very pessimistic people. They usually ask very specific questions. They do this to get a clear understanding of the subject. If something seems wrong they will not be able to let the situation be. When they argue they argue for the situation not themselves. Overall I see myself and Simon Peter alike in many ways. We react to situations the same. God has blessed us both with a sanguine temperament. Like God used Peter, He will use me. With God's guidance, and influence I can bear fruit just as Peter did.
Whether you are melancholy, phlegmatic, choleric, or sanguine. No matter what temperament you have be thankful that God has blessed you with it. It is what separates us from one another. If we were all the same the world would be a boring place. God has given us all different personalities for a reason. We are all apart of his great design, and plan. So the next time you wish you were different, remember you are perfect in God’s eyes.
Ms. Galindo wanted to start analyzing her attitudes and actions. Therefore, Ms. Galindo completed The Keirsey Temperament Sorter II questionnaire from the book Please Understand me II. Her temperament type is NF or the Idealists. Her role variant is INFP which is the Healer.
Many would compare Simon to Jesus Christ. Simon would help the needy and unfortunate by giving Piggy meat when the others would not give it to him. Simon would tell the boys that the beast was within and like Jesus, many would not listen until too late. Simon and Jesus Christ died in the same manner. Both died trying to tell others what was best for them. Simon tried to tell the kids that the beast was within themselves even when he was dying but none listened.
A layman would define personality as an individual’s characteristics in terms of how they think and behave. Many theorists, however, interprets personality differently resulting in various personality theories. Personality is determined by traits which are behaviours displayed by a person in most given situations. How a person reacts to common circumstances may also be used to foresee future behaviours. Traits are then categorized into types that allow easier comparisons to be made between each individual’s attributes. The focus of this paper would be on the biological aspects of personality whereby traits are thought to be inheritable through genetics and associated with the central nervous system. Behavioural genetics are research that makes use of results from studies done on family, twins and adoptions. The findings of how both genes and environment influences personality from the studies will be discussed. Some researchers found possible issues with the representativeness of such studies. The outline of Eysenck’s biological model of personality and arousal, Gray’s BAS/BIS theory and Cloninger’s biological model of personality will further explain the biological effect on personality.
For this project; I will be discussing the findings of my personality type. According to “Jung’s Personality Test”, I am an ENTJ. Various sources point to this type as;” The Executive.” The research I have done has brought tremendous insight into; who I am as a person, the functions of my thinking process and how to utilize my strengths to be more of an efficient/successful person. I also learned about the various careers the best suit my personality type which; helps me when It comes to job seeking after graduation. It is very important to know yourself and see how you can maximize on your God given potential. For that reason, I am very glad I took the personality test and studied this subject manner. Personality is the individual differences in characteristic patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. To me, personality means uniqueness. It is what sets us all apart from one another. Personality psychologist has coined five different traits into the Big Five. It consists of extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and openness to experience. Extraverts are people who are relatively sociable and outgoing while on the opposite end individuals who are introverts are people who would much rather enjoy the company of close friends and family. Many psychologists throughout many years present theoretical approaches in an attempt to understand personality. Hans Eysenck’s approach of personality differed from that of Sigmund Freud and his psychoanalytical theory of personality. Eysenck’s theory of personality relies on the scientific basis of biology in explaining human personality. Although Freud’s theories are intriguing to an open mind, Eysenck’s approach made measurable scientific sense. He relied on the use of trait and factor analysis, which is a statistical method. Freud relied on faith and his personal opinions based on observational research to reach the assumptions that set forth his theories (Feist & Feist, 2009). Eysenck and Freud did not agree on anything about understanding how and why the mind operates the way, it does.
There are many factors that make your personality. One that is usually overlooked is birth order. Scientists have given traits to every child based on when they were born and most of them are correct. In The Birth Order Book by Kevin Leman stated,” Your birth order-whether you were first, middle, or later in the family-has a powerful influence on the kind of person you will be, the kind of person you will marry, the type of occupation you will choose, even the kind of parents you will be.” (3). Birth order is what makes someone who they are; these characteristics apply to almost every child depending when they were born in their family, but in rare cases, the child doesn’t act like the personality given to them by science.

Personality is defined as an individual’s characteristic pattern of thinking, feeling, and acting. It is through personality that we are able to explore our innermost being and determine why we act and react to things the way we do, and what makes us make the decisions we choose.
The study of personality traits is beneficial in identifying the many variables that exist from human to human; the combinations of these variables provide us with a true level of individuality and uniqueness. In the field of psychology, trait theory is considered to be a key approach to the study of human personality (Crowne, 2007; Burton, Westen & Kowalski, 2009). This paper aims to identify a number of significant contributors who have played crucial roles in both the development and application of trait theory. This paper then moves focus to these theorists, outlining their theory and analysing both the strengths and weaknesses of those theories. An illustration of the methods used in trait measurement is given and includes the arguments both for and against such procedures. Lastly the findings of trait theory and its components described within the paper will be summarised.

Schultz and Schultz (2009), define personality in its broad sense as the manner of an individual’s behaviour in different situations. This essay explores the nature of personality, with the intention of highlighting its flexibility. The results of numerous empirical research studies are examined in order to investigate if, and how personality changes over time. It will be argued that an individual’s personality has the ability to change throughout their life.
