Of course as a society we condemn people for being serial killers. But what we forget is that there’s still a human being behind that thick shell. We as a society think that serial killers are horrible, so we put them on trial; we put them in jail, death row. But would you think of them any differently if it were father, your neighbor, or some one you went to school with? Robert Maudsley was a British serial killer born in Toxteth, United Kingdom. There are a few nicknames that you might know him as, some called him blue, then others began to know him as spoons but the one that stuck was Hannibal Cannibal. You are probably wondering how I got these nicknames. They called Maudsley blue because that was the color John Farrell’s face turned as he slowly strangled him, he was Robert Maudsley’s first victim

July 15, 1999, was an ordinary night for Kristopher Lohrmeyer as he left work at the Colorado City Creamer, a popular ice cream parlor. Kristopher had no idea that his life was about to end. When Michael Brown, 17, Derrick Miller and Andrew (Andy) Medina, 15, approached Kristopher and demanded his money and his car keys. Before the boys knew it shots had been fired and Kristopher was dead. About an hour after the fatal shooting of Kristopher Lohrmeyer, all three men were in custody and telling their version of the night’s events. Michael and Derrick who had run away after the shooting confessed to police and named Andy as the shooter. According to the three boy’s testimony, they had only recently met and needed away to get some quick cash, so they developed a carjacking scheme and headed to Andy’s house to pick up 2 stolen handguns. The three boys were uneducated and had spent most of their time on the streets in search of drugs. The judge ruled that they would be held without bail and there was probable cause to charge them all with first-degree murder (Thrown Away, 2005).
Everyone deserves a second chance; no one is perfect in this world.Certainly teens who may now be adults have come to realization that what they did was morally wrong but they have to be given the possibility to redeem themselves. To demonstrate that the heinous crime they committed does not necessarily make or mark them as harsh and insensitive human-beings.Occasionally the circumstances are what cause juveniles to behave a certain way. Moreover, it 's important to take in consideration that kids are considerably more impulsive and emotionally volatile than adults.Their brains don 't function and aren 't fully developed the way an adults brain is, their actually more reactive to stress. If you have no faults of your own;which is quite unlikely
In the article “A teacher and his husband were found dead in August. Police say they sexually abused 8 boys” by Kristine Guerra, the author informs the reader of a case from earlier in the month about how Aric Babbitt, a teacher for an elementary school, and Matthew Deyo, his husband, sexually attacked eight minors and ended up dead later in the investigation. In late August, the author explains, the two men were found deceased on a Washington island in what authorities claim to be a murder-suicide. Reports state that Babbitt and Deyo disappeared as the investigation about the abuse cases turned its head toward them. The St. Paul Pioneer Press was able to obtain a replica of the file – 134 pages long - about the discontinued investigation which gave detailed descriptions about each of
Everyone in the United States of America has an opinion on gun control regardless of their age, race, or religion. From within those opinions arguments are formed. People are arguing about gun control at their jobs, at their schools, and sometimes at their places of worship. On one side of things there are the people that support gun control like certain politicians or political organizations, teachers, police officers, and so on. On the other side of things there are the people that are against gun control, people such as hunters and various types of criminals. When it comes down to sensitive topics like gun control, there are very few people that do not choose a side. The Second Amendment, like all Amendments that constitute the Bill of Rights, is not absolute. There are vague legal boundaries that have been set down thus far which answers some questions, but leave many more open (Sanders).
In the quiet New York town of Savona, Eric Smith, age thirteen, intercepted four year old Derrick Robie on his way to a park recreation program and offered to show him a shortcut. Hesitatingly, Derrick set off with Eric. He never made it to the park. That same day the little boy's savagely beaten body was discovered outside the park area (Seifert 98).
What drives a person past insanity? What drives an individual to feel no remorse, but rather a psychological relief in murderous acts? Consider all the different types of people on Earth as well as the lifestyles and situations these people are raised up in. As much as it’s desired to think the world is filled with people who carry no such thing as a bad bone in their bodies, that thought process is simple deception. The fact is that psychopaths and sociopaths hide among others in everyday environments - neighbors, teachers, family members, doctors, friends, or even the local mailman. Psychopaths are declared as people who suffer from a mental disorder causing aggression and abnormal behaviors such as their “lack of

The criminal offence of murder, while in better shape than many other offences, is still in need of updating and some reasonably minor adjustments, most notably in the areas of intent, self-defence, and the mandatory life sentence it imposes. It is unanimously agreed that the laws on murder need codifying.
The media has been focusing a lot of youth crime, which appears me to be on the rise. To explore this I have chosen to do research on this and focus on my main question, “What causes a youth to engage in criminal activity?” the main focus of this essay will be on the background of crime and how youth crime has changed, the major factors of what causes youth to engage in criminal activity, media use and perceptions.
