The entire story started with a back story from the eyes of Rachel White who literally went mute for an entire six months because a boy died, Tommy Feathers, he died the same day Rachel pushed him away when he came over to give her a pie. She must have really regretted it if she went silent for six months. Then they introduce Bastian Fauvell and his father is in the military (air force). This is his last day in that school before he moves to Hawaii. The thing is that he has a dog and they must decontaminate him for six months and he doesn’t want him to go through that. Then they say that they can run the classroom and they don’t need a teacher. I know what you're thinking, they have a big party, but no they do what they are supposed to do, they read, they do their work you would be surprised on what really happened. Yes some kids wanted to party but the others said that they didn’t want to get caught with other teachers if they were being too loud. One of the kids didn’t show up to school that person was Christopher, but at lunch Bastion had decided to just leave school. He just got up and decided that he was going to leave school. Nobody stopped him, nobody even tried. He left to see his friend Christopher and when Bastio got to his house he told him what was going on at school. Answer: The thing that made Samantha a member of the class was that she was participating in the activities, duck-duck goose, dancing, and working with the other children. When the children are called upon and asked to participate they feel as though they are a functioning member of that classroom. The other children treated her the same as they would any other child it the class, by painting and coloring with her and consider her a friend.
P encourages Arnold to be better in life. Mr. P is responsible for Junior’s fight against hopelessness and his wish of not giving up hope and realizing dreams. Mr. P, at first, appears to be your average teacher who hates their job, stuck in the middle, and can’t achieve a higher level job. Everyone thought that Mr. P looked really weird. He was only 4 feet tall, had no hair, but had dandruff, there would be food stains on his shirt, visible nose hair, and weighed maybe 50 pounds but only when he’s carrying his 15 pound briefcase. But the strangest thing about Mr. P is that sometimes he forgot to come to school. He tried to start a reservation Shakespeare Theatre Company, but failed miserably. Oftentimes, students would have to be sent down to the housing compound behind the school to wake Mr. P, who is always napping in front of his television. He sometimes teaches classes in his pajamas. He is fairly popular among the students, as not much is asked out of the students. On Junior’s first day back to school, he is given a Geometry book. But on the first page of the book, he sees the words “This book belongs to Agnes Adams.” Agnes Adams is his mother, which meant that the book was over 30 years old. Enraged by this thought, he threw his book at Mr. P. Consequently, Arnold is suspended for a week. Mr. P goes to talk to him. He talks to him about his sister, and how she used to write romance novels, but then suddenly stopped, and telling Junior things about
They continue to “torment the weak and the smart, mussing up their hair and breaking their glasses,” (Collins 14-16). The teacher’s protection has backfired. He taught the students a work of fiction and they did not believe him or his stories. They continue to do their worst as the teacher continues to live in his fantasy world where he makes up the history in which he wants to teach. He continues to live in a world in which he makes up so he can pretend that he is helping them.

Are teachers enforcing discipline mechanisms in a healthy way for children? Researchers would answer no to this question because of one major factor: removing recess from a child’s school day. In Jessica Lahey’s article, “Students Who Lose Recess Are the Ones Who Need It Most”, she states that “schools continue to take away recess privileges as a penalty for academic or behavioral transgressions”. Many teachers follow this procedure because they assume that they are teaching the child how to act with appropriate behaviors. However, it is a proven fact that eliminating a student’s recess results in a negative outcome. Therefore, recess should not be removed from a child’s school day because this recreation plays a role in their physical health,

“If you would just get up and teach them instead of handing them a packet. There’s kids in here that don’t learn like that. They need to learn face to face. I’m telling you what you need to do. You can’t expect a kid to change if all you do is just tell ‘em.” Texas student, Jeff Bliss, decided to take a stand against the lack of teaching going on in his class (Broderick).

Kozol perceives a war waging between teachers and the public school system (Kozol, 3). Teachers are trapped victims confined to the two purposes public school is attempting to accomplish. Those two goals include “class stratification and political indoctrination” (Kozol, 7). He believes that students should be aware of what is really being taught so they can react accordingly (Kozol, 9).
...rrive home from school early because they have received a notice. Dr. Stockmann reassures his family that everything will be ok. He will host a school in the same room where he was branded an enemy of the people, and raise the poorest boys to drive out the wolves. Katherine worries that the wolves may drive him out of town, but Thomas reassures her that they don’t stand a chance. The doctor has made another great discovery…that the strongest man stands alone.
The students’ lack of understanding – beyond regurgitating facts - is evident through their nonsensical ramblings about the world and it becomes clear to the reader how young and innocent the boys truly are, as they discuss things they

Becoming a teacher has been the ultimate aspiration for myself since the first day I walked into kindergarten. As a very timid student, it was a difficult task transitioning from being with my mother everyday, to being part of a classroom environment full of strangers. However, my kindergarten teacher helped me through this transition smoothly, and adequately. I very quickly learned to love school. Soon after, I knew I would aspire to become a teacher. I would spend countless hours at home with a blackboard, acting as a teacher to my imaginary students throughout my elementary school years.
I was so excited yet so terrified at the thought of my first day in
