A tapestry is a marvelous work of art that can easily become the stand out item in your home. You do have to consider a few things when deciding which tapestry to purchase and how to affix it to your wall. Too big of a tapestry in a small face will overwhelm a room; a tiny stretched tapestry on a huge wall can look lost. The most traditional way to hang large tapestries is with a rod - most modern tapestries are woven with a pocket designed to hold the top edge flat and to distribute the weight evenly. The larger and heavier the tapestry the stronger the rod needs to be, so a hefty drapery rod with sturdy mounting brackets is preferred fro many tapestry applications.
Simply slide the tapestry onto the rod, center it, and measure as close as possible to the exit point on either end for the brackets. Use a level to get a straight line on the wall so your tapestry will hang plumb. Affix the brackets according to your measurement, then hang the rod. Your brackets should hold the rod right where it exits the tapestry pocket on both sides. Screw on finials and your tapestry will be mounted properly. Tapestries hung this way appear to float against the wall.
Another approach recommended by some manufacturers advises sewing a strip of wide Velcro along the leading edge of the tapestry, then stapling the mated strip to a sturdy board. The board should be painted to reduce chemical interaction with the tapestry, and no glue should be used for the same reason. The one on the right is barely showing as it is right on the edge of the painting. Just as the mirror, the shelves are built on the wall, not into the wall. The left shelf contains a small kettle on its very top and what appears to be a porcelain statuette seated on its top compartment. Lastly, on the back wall is a rococo clock to the left. The wall clock is round and of average size. It however has a structure with a beautiful flowery design that extends slightly upwards and then a little more going down. The structure is gold in color and its design matches that of the chandelier and the mirror. The wall on the left side of the corner is only featured slightly. It has a big window that covers almost the length of the room. It is has small panes that don’t seem to open but its long dark curtains are open allowing it to light up the room beautifully. Still on the wall, a small fraction of a small beautifully decorated rococo table with what looks like an emerald porcelain vase can be seen. The year of 1660 was a year which was full of change, the rich people were coming over with new styles from France and Britain. This hair style pulled back most of the hair and coiled it in the back, and then the excess hair was curled and made to cascade around the face. Often time pearls and ribbons were added to the coil in the back.
I found many of these quilts to carry the thought of love with them. They all represent people who are missed. One of the quilts that I observed had many meanings to it. It had pictures that meant believing in Jesus. They had a picture of a broken heart.

Mothers and fathers are viewed in despair as they fight to protect their babies. Dead babies lie on the ground being trample over as soldiers continue with their rampage of terror on the innocent victims. A woman stands in the center of the picture holding a bloody diaper centering the attention into the background in view of King Herod castle. Three angels tower over the war between the town citizens and the soldiers as they continue to murder innocent children. Despite the nature, origins and even existence of the Renaissance being subject to intensive investigation by many historians, the traditional understanding of the European renaissance as being defined as the bridge between the Middle Ages and modern era has resonated in society throughout time. Exemplified through the influx of creative arts, literature and philosophy of that time, Swiss cultural historian Jacob Burckhardt defined this bridge as being the result of an immense intellectual transformation in humanity. In fact, the term ‘renaissance’, coined by the French historian Jules Michelet, can be translated to mean ‘new birth’ or ‘rebirth’. Spanning roughly through the 14th to 17th centuries, the renaissance is often recognised as the time of a revolution of cultural revitalization and exploration. These traditionalist ideas of the Renaissance as developed by Michelet and later expanded by Burckhardt were however ultimately disposed by revisionist historians like Charles Homer Haskins who began a revolt against Renaissance idea, motivated by the goal to deny the era any legitimate historical existence and annex the period to the middle ages. However, the perspectives of these historians in this debate are ultimately a reflection of their own context and purposes. Both Michelet and Burckhardt’s approach reflect their own 19th-century world, whilst Haskins was heavily influenced by his liberal, optimistic 20th-century ideals. The Renaissance art that I've included contains a piece by Robert Campin entitled “Annunciation Triptych,” and another work by Fra Filippo Lippi, called “Madonna and Child Enthroned with Two Angels.” In both of these paintings we see some of the typical themes of Renaissance art. For example, Lippi included in his scene a background which wouldn't have necessarily been needed. Really he could have chosen just about anything, like the woods or the sea, that might have been easier to paint. He chose though what appears to be the inside of a building, likely a church. Not only that but he went to great lengths to ensure everything was in perspective, and the lines and angles are straight and sharp. Similarly Campin has also chosen an interior scenes with strong perspective and exacting details. In both of these the artists seem to be capturing an event, much like with a photography in modern times. While both images portray fictional scenes, the artists wanted to capture the moment to tell a precise historical story. The Renaissance time period started in the late 14th century and it lasted all through the 16th century. It all started in the late Middle ages throughout Italy (http://fashionhistory.net) taking at least one-hundred years before it reached the Northern Alps. This was also the period where the word “European” was put in use and understood by other places, and the word “Renascrere” originated from the Italian word “Renascrere” and it meant to be re-born. The word Renascrere fitted perfectly to this age due to the fact that many had intellectual pursuits and creative energy was re-born (www.richeast.org). Having the ability to shape a student’s life is truly a gift; so many of my art teachers inspired me to follow my dreams. After hearing Taylor Mali’s poem, What Teachers Make, I knew that I wanted to be a teacher: I want to make a difference. Mali spoke with so much passion as he answered the age old question ‘what do teachers make.’ “I make parents see their children for who they are and who they can be,” this quote really moved me because I think in a lot of situations students’ talents are overlooked by their parents (Mali.) My art teachers always had their hand in the community creating sculptures for the local fire department or crocheting hats and baby booties. I feel good teaching shows students how to apply the knowledge they learned. I want to model what they learned so they can apply it to their everyday life. I attend to teach my students to be active members of society and be aware and respectful of others’ culture, and teach them how to apply the skills they learn in art in their everyday life.

In the art community there is a lot of controversy in distinguishing what the difference between an artist and a designer. Designers are told they are not artist and they need to stop thinking they are artist. When dealing with art and design specific demographics and viewers interpret the messages of each subject in different ways. Art is said to be elucidated and design is said to be understood. Artists usually develop a work of art with the intention of bringing an emotion viewpoint, instinctive feeling, and or state of mind. When you look at an artist work it cannot be limited to just exhibiting one individual thought or just one individual meaning. That is a big difference when it comes to graphic design. Graphic design usually has a very specific goal and point to make. When dealing with graphic design there should not be any room or space for any mixed messages or multiple meanings. The audience of the design should immediately understand the design that the designer created. Art connects to people differently in so many ways. The only reason it connects to people in different ways is only because it is interpreted differently.
