I. Even though there are many old civilization in the world, the civilization and the monotheistic faiths started from Syria. The first alphabet in the world is in Syria. Agriculture began from Syria and spread to the world. This essay will first examine the faiths, then the agriculture, language, and finally Damascus is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world.

II. Syria is the cradle of monotheistic religions Islam, Christianity and Judaism. From Syria, these faiths started and moved to the whole world. There are many old Churches and mosques like the Church of John the Baptist (the Umayyad Mosque) and Marian Church and the Church of Ananias and St. Paul's Church.

III. Agriculture first appeared in Syria thousands of years ago, when man discovered the possibility of growing hundreds of new plants from seed. The founder crops, wheat, barley, peas, lentils, vetch, chick peas and flax were cultivated in the Levant.
