Syncaris Pacifica is a scientific names another name for Syncaris Pacifica is a The California freshwater shrimp. This species is often translucent to transparent. Both male and female are capable of considerable coloration altering, as a sophisticated form of camouflage. The Shrimps is endemic to 16 coastal streams in Marin, Sonoma, and Napa countries north of San Francisco Bay. Also Syncaris Pacifica is one of four atyid shrimps species endemic to North America. The shrimps are found in low elevation. The max elevation the shrimps can live in is one hundred twenty five meter. In 1986 the California freshwater shrimps were listed endangered specie and until now the shrimps still listed as endangered. Current population for California freshwater shrimps is unknown. The shrimps survive by eating the various microscopic organisms that live in the stream. The adult size of the shrimps is less than three inches. The shrimp have two antenna. The first antenna is short and the second one is three times longer then the first one. …show more content…
The Syncaris Pacifica also importance because they ate some of the microscopic that might be harmful to the ecosystems. They like to collect all the small debris in the stream. There are many caused to their decline. The first caused is the introduced fish. When stream got introduced by fish this have cause the shrimps to become food. The fish eat faster then a shrimp can reproduce. The shrimp just hatch to a full adult and reproduce usually take around seven to nine month. But during time it can be hard because in the stream is a survival of the fit. The strong and smart get to live the weak and old become fish

Francisco Pizarro was a famous Spanish explorer. On September 13, 1524, Francisco Pizarro set sail from Panama to a conquest of Peru. He brought about eighty men and forty horses with him. In 1528, Pizarro went back to Spain managed to obtain in a group of people from Emperor Charles V. Francisco Pizarro was known for capturing the Inca Emperor, Emperor Atahualpa, in 1532. In 1533, Pizarro conquered Peru.
Save the Whales, Screw the Shrimp is an essay written by Joy Williams, about the overwhelming complacency that todays culture shows towards nature.Williams argues in a very satirical way, that todays culture has all but completely lost touch with what nature really is, and that unless we as a nation change our morals regarding the role that nature plays in human existence, we may very well be witnessing the dawn of our own destruction.
T. californicus is found from Alaska to Baja in small, shallow tidepools and tidal flats in the upper spray zone where they cannot avoid the full effect of visible and ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Individuals assemble in areas of lower radiation at midday, yet have no preference to the intensity of light at dawn and dusk (Hartline and Macmillan 1995). These tiny arthropods inhabit all types of marine sediments from sand to fine mud and ooze. Along with plankton, T. californicus eats microscopic algae, protists, bacteria, diatoms, algae and microbes (McGroarty 1958). When the concentrations of the species in their habitats are high, T. californicus will turn to cannibalism for a food source. The nautilus eye present in the species is rich with fatty acids and provides a good food source for the animal.
Lionfish are not currently listed as threatened in their native range. However, the increase in pollution in coral reefs can negatively affect the lionfish's primary food sources (NOAA, 2011). If lionfish are unable to adapt to declines in their prey species, their numbers will decrease. Although between the increasing reef pollution and the Lionfish’s voracious appetite reef populations will more than likely be damaged beyond repair, they may even be close to elimination by the time the Lionfish population actually declines (Albins, 2013).
they find their food by their surroundings and sifting the sand of filtering the water. the bulk of their diet is composed algae and plankton matter. The big evolutionary change helped the shrimp defend itself, time before the change there wasn’t this many shrimp in the ocean most people eat shrimp and can cause a decrease in shrimp, progress has been showed since this great evolutionary change, there are some effects on the species such as not being able to see where it’s going and can sometimes get in to traps and trash in the
... incredibly relevant to today world. Brine shrimps are also used as test subjects due to their incredible resilience, and are also sold as a novelty item “sea monkeys.” Unfortunately, these unique critters have become threatened in some cases as water is diverted away (for human use) from high saline environments inhabited by brine shrimp. As a result, the water becomes more saline and usually results in a rising pH which can endanger the shrimps. The information provided in these two studies shows the need, function, means, and genetic explanation for osmoregulation. As humans continue to impact the environment, changing salinity will result in changing need for osmoregulation, and as a result, future scientists will need to explore how organisms can react to the need to osmoregulate more or less and how that will impact organism populations’ survival as a whole.
Americo Paredes was an Mexican-American born in Brownsville,Texas September 3, 1915 and died May 5, 1999 in Austin, Texas. Americo Paredes was an author and for example wrote “With his Pistol In His Hand”. He was famous for his famous books and also his music.
For My Excursion paper I choose to go visit, The Hispanic Society of America hoping to get a better understanding of how Hispanic culture has impacted art. There was a decent amount of art on display although I must say the museum was smaller than expected. The most impressive piece was Joaquin Sorolla vision of Spain a very beautiful display. I left this museum with a better understanding of how Hispanic culture impacted paintings, ceramic art, and literacy.
Recently there was a school shooting at a high school in Florida, 17 were killed and many others were injured. This attack was carried out by a 19-year-old named Nikolas Cruz. Cruz was clearly mentally unstable and had his actions show for it. His family and friends all knew about his issues and so did schools, his fellow peers even made jokes about him shooting up the school way before the incident even occurred. Multiple tips had been received prior to the shooting and the FBI did not take action to stop this attack and warn the school.
This paper will look at the Medusozoa commonly known as the jellyfish. The jellyfish comes from the Cnidaria phyla. The jelly fish dates back over 500 million years and can be found in various different oceanic environments. And there are a few varieties that inhabit fresh water as well. Despite its name the jelly fish is not even a fish because it has no vertebrae. The medusozoa are broken up into four classes scyphomedusae ("true" jellyfish), stauromedusae (stalked jellyfish), cubomedusae (box jellyfish) and hydrozoa. The jellyfish body can take on various forms from the more commonly known bell or umbrella shape or they can be flat and disc like based on the species. This paper will focus on the scyphomedusae or “true jellyfish”. We will look at the like cycle, habitat, resources it needs, and ethical issues concerning the animal.

As a creator of mankind, Prometheus the titan wanted the best for the human race; however, he was still under the control of Zeus. Made from clay, humans roam around Earth learning from Prometheus the ways of life which may seem like a utopia, yet Prometheus has an obsession trying to evolve humans from lowly animals to the superior race. Prometheus, who is so focused, wanted to bestow the light of fire to his works of arts; however, before the deed, Prometheus had given a proffer of playful depravity to Zeus. The raged god had declined the request of gifting humans with fire, while Prometheus mutinously went ahead and showed the human race with the beauty and dangers of fire. From Olympus, Zeus discovered the tumult
Literature Review Recovery of Marine Animal Populations and Ecosystems: Lotze, Coll, Magera, Ward, Airoldi In a research article by Lotze, Coll, Magera, Ward and Airoldi (2011) they examine the positive side of how ecosystems in the ocean can recover even though they are faced with many different types of struggles every day. The authors ask the main question: How common is recovery among depleted populations and degraded ecosystems in the ocean? It is hypothesized that over the years, ecosystems are going to recover and essentially in the future, increase. The results in this study supported the hypothesis of the research on recovery for certain ecosystems and stated that 10-50% of ecosystems actually show some rate of progression (Lotze, 2011).
