I feel sympathy for Tray and Deborah for Tray his pride was shot and he is broken down And he blames his daughter lily for everything that has happened. So he yells at his daughter because he was always mean and disrespectful to Deborah. The real reason why he was so because TRay had seemingly been truly in love when they first began their relationship. August tells Lily that Deborah said that TRay treated her like a princess and they conceived a child. Deborah agreed to marry TRay after she was pregnant. Yet at some point in their marriage, their relationship turned worst. Deborah fell into depression the cause of which is unchosen. Deborah eventually left her Sylvan home with Lily to escape to Tray. Lily determines that Deborah left it
This letter is written by Jonathan Airey regarding my own loss of consortium brought on by the December 23, 2016 car accident involving Stephanie Airey. Stephanie is and always has been a loving spouse and mother to our children. The injuries she sustained on December 23, 2016 incapacitated Stephanie from that time until April 12, 2017. Stephanie’s incapacity was hugely impactful on my life and the lives of our children.

While reading the book, “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks”, I had so many emotions running through my mind. I would often think, what if that was my family or me? It is also very different because of the years this happened in. there were a lot of unlawful things going on that should have been against the law but were not at the time. Henrietta, as I read was an amazing woman who has a harsh life and also after she lost her life, it continued to be difficult. Henrietta kept her cancer from her family for some time and as stated in the book it was common for people to keep secrets about medical conditions (Skloot). I think Lacks is am amazing woman, not only for what she unknowingly did for the future of medicine but also as a mother and wife. She was such a strong woman and her legacy carry on and she story will be told all over.
Guilt is one of the most powerful forces known to man. It can drive the average man into a paranoia struck fool, ravenous for stability. Guilt can cause people to cave in from under them, revealing an empty and hollow shell. As children, we are conditioned to feel guilty when we do something wrong. As we get older, we learn that we receive praise and acceptance when we behave properly, or as is expected of us. Because humans have a strong desire to be loved and accepted, we do things in order to receive approval. Vera Claythorne was one of the characters mostly affected by guilt. She would constantly get hysteria attacks because of the guilt she carried. She often imagined Hugo was near. General Macarthur had very strong guilt as well, so
...ave sympathy for all those lost and affected, but they will never be able to have empathy. They are just there to view the names, and although they may be mournful, they will never truly understand it.
Feeling Sympathy for Tess in Tess of the D'Urbervilles I think that throughout the novel Thomas Hardy uses many different techniques that lead his readers to feel sympathy for Tess. Through reading Hardy's 'Tess of the D'Urbervilles' I have realised that it is. invaluable that the readers of any novel sympathise with and feel compassion for the main character. In writing 'Tess of the D'Urbervilles' Thomas Hardy is very successful in grabbing the win.
Old Woman Magoun most likely feels responsible for Lily’s situation and her own daughter’s demise and has learned to fear men as a result of it. She fears the girl’s father because he represents the part of herself that she cannot control, Lily. She has no choice but to give up her granddaughter and she cannot bear to lose her to the man she despises, Nelson Barry. Facing the reality of losing Lily is more than the old woman is readily prepared for.
The story of Henrietta Lacks and her family is one that raises many questions about ethics, consent, medical treatment, and family rights. The decisions made by the scientists and doctors surrounding HeLa research have had lasting impacts in the Lacks family. The question I have chosen to address is what change would have helped the Lacks children the most. I feel the most influential piece to the Lacks children’s suffering was being raised by Ethel. This portion of their life was filled with physical and emotional abuse that led to destructive behavior. This behavior would also play a role in the anger toward HeLa researchers and anyone else who did harm to the family or left them in the dark. Although questions about their mother, financial

feels sorry for her. On the evening of his accused crime he was asked by Mayella to fix a door in the house. He never accepted any money. from Mayella for doing these tasks. In this way he is like a mocking
August was correct when she said that Lily must be her own mother. Lily will not always have someone to care for her. If this happens she must learn to care for herself. Lily was also relying too much on the statue of Mary. When the statue of Mary was chained up Lily could not go to her for help.
Through out the film, Mildred has shown that she is a mother that would do anything for her children, she is strong, and independent. Even though she comes from a middle class, she does everything in her power to provide for her two daughters, especially for the eldest daughter Veda. At first, I thought Mildred was femme fatal because of the first scene but turns out that Veda is femme fatal, based off her values and behaviors. Mildred is a very attractive woman, and had a lot of men liking her but not once did she gave them the wrong idea or go after their money. The only time she married someone that she did not love was Monty, her second husband, and that too was for Veda so she would come back home. What stands out to me about Mildred
If Joan Davis would have survived that tragic car accident I am certain she would have become someone extraordinary that would have shared her kindness with everyone. It is without a doubt that she would have made a difference in a world that needs so much kindness. From my perspective I think every human being is unique, they have their own way of thinking and their own qualities. That is why I don't think that there will ever be another Joan Davis but there can someone who performs similar actions as Joan Davis and I think I share those similar actions.
In Alexander Pope’s poem “Elegy to the Memory of an Unfortunate Lady,” Pope uses a great amount of war-like imagery to enhance his vision of the suicide described. He creates allies and enemies, weapons and invasions, as well as the gruesome death that only seems to come from war. These pieces add to the overall meaning of the work and the vision of the event that has occurred, giving the reader an image of a battle occurring.
Empathy, defined by the Merriam- Webster Dictionary, is “the imaginative projection of a subjective state into an object, so that the object appears to be infused with it,” and also as, “the action of understanding, being aware of, being sensitive to, and vicariously experiencing the feelings, thoughts, and experience of another of either the past or present without having the feelings, thoughts, and experience fully communicated in an objectively explicit manner.” In the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, empathy, has no synonyms or antonyms. However, upon further investigation into the dictionary it is found that, empathy is used as a synonym for sympathy, or, “an affinity, association, or relationship between persons or things
