Starting out with an initial investment of only $200 and an innovative idea, Lincoln Electric is proud in saying that have been around for well over a century and still thrive as being the best in the business. When comparing the information found about Lincoln to the descriptions of organizational structures in Chapter 8 of our textbook, I’ve concluded Lincoln Electric has an innovative organizational structure. An innovative organizational structure is characterized by being flexible, adaptable, and open to experimenting with new ideas. Every aspect of their company can fit up under this organizational structure. Their lax in use of a formal hierarchy structure and excessive titles contribute to this reasoning. The emphasis they put on developing new ideas and using updated technologies also support this organizational structure.
This company was built on an innovative idea, and they have sense lead the market by continuing to produce more innovative ideas including the way they manage their company and value their employees. Their products and services also continue to stand out because of their high quality and low costs. This innovative organizational structure has allowed for Lincoln Electric to become a very successful company and organization world-wide. I will share how the self-assessment instruments and self-exercises in this course have contributed to assessing and understanding my strengths and weaknesses.
