Lincoln Electric Company has a very distinguished culture, after my readings over the case study it is clear that the strong culture they have prominently reflects their success.
Lincoln Electrics management style in their culture makes it so that every employee has a way to improve the company by making suggestions to management, from there, management will assess the idea and employees are rewarded for suggestions they make. Management also gives their employees more responsibility. The companies management incentive plan allows workers to be paid with what is earned and reflects their work; their earnings must be in accordance with accomplishments and there must be honesty and understanding between workers and management.

He also believed that the customers needs and interests should always come first before the stockholders interests. His goal was always to build a better product at a continually lower price, the customers interest should always be the first goal of the industry.
General Electric also has an open door policy to allow employees to go straight to who they needed to speak with to resolve a problem, which is I think is great instead of telling one manager and them telling another supervisor for the problem to get dragged up and down the totem pole its great to be able to go to a specific person to resolve a problem, which leads to a happier employee and less work tike wasted.
At the end of the case study were interviews conducted with the employees of Lincoln Electric in 1980 and each of them were very happy in their line of work. They all knew they were being paid more than any other industrial plant in the area. All of the employees were able to buy a home, a car, send their kids to college, and have stocks in the company.
Having said all of this the culture of the company greatly improved all of the employee’s lives; in doing so Lincoln Electric has been greatly successful and is a company all other corporations should aspire to be
It is also the one of the hardest components for management to fulfill. GMFC needs to be an industry leader in pay as well as implement a merit pay policy for employees. Leading the industry in pay and awarding employees pay increases equal to or better than what the union can negotiate is instrumental to keeping the plant union-free (Fossum, 2012). Also basing pay increases on performance and skills learned is a great incentive to boost productivity and employee motivation. As an example, Volkswagen starts their employees the base rate the union would be able to negotiate keeping employees content (Greenhouse, 2014).
Organizations face massive challenges in attracting and retaining a high-quality and productive workforce. Companies are continually looking for new ways to keep their employees satisfied at all levels in order to harness greater productivity and ideas from people while keeping them motivated and happy. One real challenge examined earlier is the need to transform General Motors to be a much more productive and fully utilized organization by examining the hourly workforce. This is a great change from the traditional "us versus them" mentality of the past between management and the union.
In 2009 when Sergio Marchionne took over one of the Chrysler plants had around 200 workers and by the end of the summer over 4500 people were employed; at that location alone. During his 60 minute interview Mr. Marchionne gives a lot of acknowledgement to his employees crediting them for the successful turnaround in the company. This shows us that he is the type of leader who would motivate through the positive reinforcement theory because his positivity in the comments to his employees shows that he isn’t taking full credit for all the work that was done and the success that has happened. When Mr. Marchionne became CEO of Chrysler he moved his office down where the engineers work on the 4th floor. “No need for a top-floor penthouse, which sits empty where a chairman and three vice chairmen used to be, when a fourth floor office will suffice.” (Allpro.com). This was one of his first step in creating change of direction in a company which was used to being lead by leaders who didn’t fully engage with the employees. Another point to mention, and a result of his close contact with the engineer, is that the engineers were performing for him and were able to get a brand new car model designed and produced in less than a year; which proves his leadership style works. In order for a great leader to get this kind of effective cooperation from his employees shows his skills in leadership. By giving them positive reinforcement and being a motivational leader with high hopes with an optimistic vision for the future he was able to get them to perform and meet his standards and goals in a short allotted amount of time. This constrictive timeframe was strategic in reentering the automotive industry with a new product to boost sales and pro...
Finding and hiring an electrician to do or fix the electrical wiring in your home is not as simple as flipping through the phone book. Many times, homeowners rush into hiring an electrician without doing any background check. ...er when it comes to quality. Besides, the company is very competitive in the market, and this kind of competitiveness has been passed to its employees. The employees compete among themselves, which brings the best out of them.
We probably all agree that the primary objective of any business is to achieve revenue and attain a certain profit. But then here is the question that we might ask, is profit the only element that should be considered when making business decisions? In my point of view the answer is no as I will try to demonstrate throughout this paper. One quick alternative of what should be the first top priority of a business is creating a customer as Dr.Peter Drucker said. According to him “The customer is the foundation of a business and keeps it in existence. He alone gives employment. To supply the wants and needs of a consumer, society entrusts wealth-producing resources to the business enterprise.” (Santayana, George. Is The Tyranny Of Shareholder Value Finally Ending? )

...ategic positioning is its incentive management system, which is what differentiated the company from its competitors. Lincoln Electric had excellent labor relations where an “open door policy” was implemented between executives and employees. Under Lincoln’s incentive system, the workers were rewarded for their productivity. The employees’ earnings and promotions were determined in direct proportion to their individual compensation towards the company’s success. This served as an effective system that motivated workers to be more efficient and increase the productivity of high quality products with reduction to costs. Lincoln Electric’s strength in being a player in the manufacturing industry is building high quality products at a lower cost than their competitors. The company follows a low-cost strategy that is supported through their incentive management system.
Lincoln was able to grow and prosper through the process of human motivation which is called incentive management. James F. Lincoln, who founded Lincoln Electric summed up in his monograph that employees have no desire to develop their skills in the workplace unless paid properly (Lincoln, 2016). He then talks about how incentives create cooperation, for if employees are not recognized, they will not cooperate with productivity (Lincoln, 2016). The incentive system included compensation and benefits e.g. bonus systems, piece rate pays
Portfolio Project: Tesla Motors Case Study Tesla Motors (Tesla), founded in 2003 by Elon Musk, is an automotive company focused on enhancing Electric Vehicle market by creating optimum performance, all electric, vehicles for every class of consumer (Tesla Motors, 2015). In order to achieve such ambitious goals, Tesla Motors not only designs, but also manufactures, and personally sells the company’s electric vehicles (Hirsch, 2015). As additional quality assurance, Tesla Motors also designs, manufactures, and sells, electric vehicle power-train components, and battery products (Hirsch, 2015). Yet, despite the pivotal role Tesla’s self curated products play in the success of Tesla’s vehicles, the socially responsible company does not privatize Apart from Musk’s concise vision statement Tesla has a truly inspiring mission statement, “At the core, Tesla Motors believes that electric cars should not be perceived as a sacrificial mode of transportation. Tesla Motors has brought the best of both the automotive and technological worlds together by permanently etching the image of electric cars being a step backwards in performance, efficiency, and design” (Tesla Motors, Chiefly, and most apparently, it is the goal of Tesla Motor to generate demand for Tesla vehicles (Andrade, Holloway, Payne, Roy & Sheffield, 2015).
...ible if Lincoln Electric stopped prioritizing its employees. By making sure to look out for its employees’’ well-being, the company can stay aggressive and stable without stagnation or lawsuits. Ultimately, the company sounds like it blends traditional management elements with an above-average attention to employee morale, training, and well-being. For a place that’s nearly two hundred years old, with thousands of satisfied employees, this is an impressive track record. Other companies should look at the management style present at Lincoln Electric for proof that companies can make profits and still put their employees above stakeholders.

Many of Harrah’s employees deemed the goals set by Winn’s current incentive program to be unrealistic; on the other hand, others felt a sense of entitlement for bonuses. Therefore, Winn’s job is to provide a recommendation to Gary Loveman, on how to motivate and get employees energized.
