Beer is an alcoholic beverage produced by steeping a starch source (commonly cereal grains) in water and fermenting it. Which will produces a sweet liquid with yeast. Most beer is also flavored with hops, which add bitterness and act as a natural preservative, though other flavorings such as herbs or fruit may occasionally be included. The brewing process causes a natural carbonation effect, although forced carbonation is also used. The preparation of beer is called brewing.

Competition analysis
Beer consumers can buy beer from three main sources either from supermarkets, pubs or breweries. The supermarkets and pubs sell beer provided either by local producers (large or small) or import it. The main two producers in Cyprus are Keo (established in 1927) and Carlsberg (started in 1937).
Together, the two local brewers account for about 90% of annual consumption, while literally hundreds of imported beers account for the remaining 10%.
They are Pivo’s indirect competitors. The main competitors are the nearby bars and pubs, there are plenty of them in the two main market streets of city center (Ledras, and Onasagorou). Deutsche Brauerei has been a family owned and operated corporation for 12 generations, which has created a high level of focus and control. Each generation has kept the management and operations processes relatively simple, centered on brewing practices and quality. Deutsche Brauerei’s rapid growth in recent years can be attributed to several factors. First and foremost, the company’s success is centered on the product itself, which has won numerous quality awards and is quite popular in Germany. Another contributing factor to the recent growth may have been a bit inadvertent. The purchase of new equipment in 1994, which was necessary as a result of a fire that destroyed the old equipment, allowed the company to increase brewing capacity and efficiency. Finally, Deutsche Brauerei’s decision to enter the Ukranian market in 1998 contributed significantly to the rapid growth. The collapse of the U.S.S.R. brought market reforms, and Deutsche Brauerei jumped on the opportunity to enter the fragmented beer industry, capture the large population and capitalize on the prime location in Europe. Lukas Schweitzer was savvy enough to hire local expert Oleg Pinchuk away from a competitor as the marketing manager, and Oleg was instrumental in building the business in Ukraine by securing accounts and implementing the field warehousing to support distributors. Deutsche’s beer was hugely popular in the Ukraine almost immediately, and volume sales more than offset the depreciation of the Ukrainian currency. Sales in Ukraine accounted for 28% of Deutsche’s total sales, and skyrocketed from 4,262 euros in 1998 to 25,847 euros in 2001.
Beer started out as an accidentally formed liquid that tasted good to the people, therefor that soon led to that liquid being used as a from of currency. In these holidays, people usually drink in excess to have a good time and celebrate. Different countries specialize in different types of alcohol, such as: the Italian have really good wine, Mexico is known for beer and tequila, Ireland is famous for beer and whiskey, Japan has their own beverage called Sake, and the United States is known for beer, wine, and whiskey. In these cultures, drinking alcohol is an acceptable type of celebration that teenagers even participate in. Not all alcohol consumed is in celebration. Therefore, “the top 20 percent of drinkers consume approximately 30 percent of all alcohol drunk over a 12-month period” (Grant 290).

A brewery is literally a beer factory in which the brewer takes advantage of and manipulates natural processes to create the perfect growth medium for yeast. On the surface the brewing process is simple. But it you look a little deeper you find that there is a complex set of chemical reactions at work in the creation of beer.

According to a “Fuel My Motivation” article (2010), this analysis considers internal influences that can positively or negatively affect our ability to achieve our goals.
