Over the course of time, people have faced problems in order to survive, so they can live up to the legacy of family members and friends. During their journey, people have faced struggles that made them successful later on in their life. “Each experience in your life was absolutely necessary in order to have gotten you to the next place, and the next place, up to this very moment,”-Dr. Wayne W. Dyer’s quote. Similarly, in the Story of Keesh, Keesh, a 13 year old boy, had to live up to the legacy of his father, a well-known and fierce hunter; to show that even though he was young, he can still hunt bears better then the elders in the village, but had to face bravery, creativity, loss, and survival throughout the way. Whereas in the Life of Pi, Pi, a young boy, faces tragedy of his parents and family after a shipwreck in the middle of the ocean. Pi then had to survive with many obstacles in the middle of the ocean on a lifeboat with a adult male Bengal tiger, zebra, orangutan, and a hyena that showed his bravery, creativity, loss, and survival. In the, Story of Keesh and Life of Pi, both protagonist face many obstacles to survive that are similar and different in many ways. In The Story of Keesh and Life of Pi, both short stories presented the protagonist through obstacles in order to survive. One example, is that Keesh had to survive in the Arctic with different equipments, in order to kill adult bears or cubs to prove that he is not a child, but an adult. On the other hand, Pi had to survive in the middle of the sea by himself around different animals and surroundings, to show that he was able to survive a shipwreck and to tell the story of what had happened during his experience of survival. Many people may come in with different desires of hope and capability, but only some can make it through
