The Supreme Beings of Animism are objects, places, and creatures with the belief that these all possess a spiritual essence. Most animists believe in one supreme God that is above all other gods and spirits. This Supreme Being is not close to their creation and it is speculated that these lesser beings serve the Supreme Beings will. The Spiritual Realm is very important in Animism. There are two types of things in this realm, personal spirit-beings and an impersonal spiritual energy. Spirits can be people that were once living or they can be spirits and gods who were not embodied. These spirits often are seen as the mediators between God and humans. Both the God of the bible and the God of animism have lesser beings that do serve them. For the God of the bible they are angels and for the God of Animism they are spirits and minor gods. The God of the bible does not allow other gods or figures to be worshiped. This goes directly against animism because the principle of it is that many objects and natural occurrences have spirits in them. In this religion the human being is often regarded as equal with other plants, natural forces and animals. It is still undetermined if Animism is a singular, religious belief or a worldview, comprised of many diverse mythologies found worldwide in many different cultures. In the case of acceptance of or resistance to Jesus Christ in this religion is that the relationship is absent. In a religion in which the followers believe things of spiritual value are equal to people it makes it so that Jesus Christ cannot be above them. The best way to go about evangelism is to first listen to what they have to say. Something might be troubling them and they might be dealing with something spiritual that needs to be recognized. Narayana or the Supreme being has the power of preservation, creation, recreation and dissolution. The supreme being is broken down into three Gods. There is Brahman the creator, Vishnu the preserver, and Shiva the Destroyer. Hindus sometimes call their supreme being Brahman because it is seen as the ultimate reality and not just the creator. It is an impersonal oneness that is beyond all moral and personal distinctions. Hinduism is quite similar to Buddhism because of the belief of detaching oneself from your ego (Halverson, 89). The Supreme being of Hinduism is similar to the God of the Bible because they both can create and destroy. They are both beyond humanity and above everything else. The supreme being of Hinduism is different because it is an impersonal being. The God of the bible can have a personal relationship with his creation, while the supreme being of Hinduism is separated entirely. The end goal of Hinduism is to merge into the supreme beings oneness and disappear. The end goal of Christianity is to have eternal fellowship with God and to have a loving relationship with God. Hinduism would not be too quick to accept Jesus as they think he is not unique. They have a similar figure called Vishnu who is a god.
