In Stephen King’s essay, “Why We Crave Horror Movies”, he uses his knowledge of horror fiction, the reactions of his audience, and personal opinion to determine the most plausible causes of why people enjoy horror films. The thrill of watching a horror movie is compared to riding a roller coaster; we do it to have fun and to prove to ourselves, and others, that we are not scared.
