They go out and then find Dirk (The one that was bullying Jack) So then Jack gets this amazing idea that they should go back to the school and find June which he calls her Damsel in distress. So they go to the school and find her but she says that she is waiting for her parents. But after a couple of nights she decides to come with. Then there is a huge fight scene with a monster named “Blarg”
who Jack thought he had killed in the beginning of the book and then they all kill it. That is the end of book 1. Book 2 starts with them hanging out in the tree house and then go out to explore. They go to a mall to get parts for something Quint is building and come across a monster. Jack almost dies and then they find this half monster and half human. His name is Thrull and they meet and Thrull brings them to an abandoned pizza place with a whole bunch of monsters. Thrull gave Jack a bestiary to track all the monsters. Jack and his friends have noticed that the zombies had been disappearing and every time they go they hear a really loud sound. So they leave and catch a zombie and find out the source. They find out it is Thrull trying to summon a really evil monster from his past world. While they were listening to Thrull talk to the horrible monster, they found out that thrull was using them! The bestiary is a key to bring him to earth. They all go home and try to destroy the book, but can't because it is a “Lord of the Rings type book” Which means it cannot be broken. So they decide to weed killer because the portal is a tree and it is sucking the brains out of the zombies. They go to the mall and get the weed killer but runs into a monster named the “Wormungus”. The “Wormungus” appears to be hurt and Dirk apparently knows how to sew so he sews the 10 foot wound. They leave and go back to the treehouse. Then Thrull comes by and says he knows they were there. Jack was coming up with lies to make him go away, but he did not believe any of them. Thrull found the bestiary and locked Dirk, Jack, and June but took quint. Rover (There Monster dog) goes out to look for a monster named Bardle then hung around with Thrull. Analysis/Recommendation- I found a lot of intense moments in book and a lot of friendship. I really liked this series. I would definitely recommend this to Zombie/Monster Fans

The major themes of the book are directly related to the themes which John Demos uses to tell this story. The storyline moves on though the evolution of one theme to the next. The function of these major sections is to allow the reader to relate to John Williams overall state of mind as the story unfold. By implementing these major themes into his work, John Demos make it possible for the reader to fully understand the story from beginning to end.
The book HIDEOUT, written by Gordon Korman, begins with an adventurous group of middle school kids that come to the rescue of one of their friends to hide a fierce Doberman before a crooked businessman can bring him harm. The story starts out in the beginning of August, in Cedarville, New York, with the school friends all heading off to summer camps but they did not know they would be sneaking a dog along with them. There are two main characters in each of the summer camps and the story takes place in all three of these camps. These summer camps are in the woods of New York’s Catskill Mountains. They are Camp Ebony Lake, Camp Ta-da and Camp Endless Pines. These three camps may be in the same woods but they are spread out and are miles away from each other. There is a different theme to each camp and it makes the book more interesting because the setting is always changing.
One example of the theme occurs when the author first introduces the story. “But the summer I was 9 years old, the town I had always loved morphed into a beautifully heartbreaking and complicated place.” (pg. 1). The author is saying that the year she turned nine, she found out something about her town that broke her heart and changed the way she saw it. This quote is important because it supports the theme. It shows that now she is older she has learned something about her town that made her wiser than when she was younger. She is now more informed because the new information changed her and caused her to begin to mature.
* Duncan, Vinny, and Wayne are all friends working - or wasting time - the summer before senior year in high school. Duncan is the soul, Vinny the brains, and Wayne the muscle. At the end of the previous summer, Duncan tried to save a drowning girl and failed. Not being a hero has really affected his life, particularly his relationship with his girlfriend Kim. Also, he is now terrified of swimming, especially when the nightmares come back. Duncan's summer job is with the public transit lost and found. While trying to make the hours go faster, Duncan looks through the items, especially the books and golf clubs. One day he discovers an unmarked journal with no name, which depicts sadistic animal torture experiments, boasts of arson fires, and the planning for the serial killings of three women. Duncan decides to make amends for his failure last summer by tracking down the owner of the journal by using clues left hidden in the diary. After talking with his friend Vinny, Duncan decides to turn the journal over to the police, but they do not take him seriously, so he decides to get help from Vinny, do some research at the local library, and find out where the killer works and lives so they can prove to the police the diary is for real. But in the process when Duncan finds the house of the serial killer, he decides to take a look in it but unfortunately at that very time the serial killer appears and chases Duncan to the subway station. They get into fight there and they both fell on the subway tracks in the station where they get hit by the train. Duncan luckily survives but the serial killer dies.
Irony- For John starts off with affair with Abby,Parris niece and his wife knows about it but, wont say anything. For she doesn't want to ruin his good name, but at the end of the book he tells everyone about it to help save his name. This shows my theme for he didn't care in the end about his named but more about his wife safety showing Integrity. Symbolism- John didn't give in an confess to witch craft but instead he end up getting hung, he stands for all the people that took the punishment of death instead of confessing. This shows Integrity for John knew that he would be hung unless he confessed to crimes he did not do and for that he did the right thing even though he could have taken the easy way
What are the important themes of the book? What questions or issues about teaching and learning does it address?
In conclusion, there are various themes in the book. The theme of education is evident from the beginning to the end of the novel. Atticus Finch stresses the need for education to his children and also to the people of Maycomb during the trial of Tom Robinson. The theme of courage is also an important part of this novel. The children learn from Atticus and Mrs. Dubose that courage and strength are not necessarily physical, but actually they are present in the hearts and minds of people. The theme of prejudice is present throughout the novel in the first part against Boo Radley and in the second part in the form of racism against Tom Robinson. The understanding of prejudice helps the children change from childhood innocence to a point of maturity and acceptance of people who are different from them.
The storyline is very simple and straight forward. However, there are still some things I don’t understand and have to use a dictionary.
They witness a massacre and try to find a way out of the city before they are found and killed by the mob. The only job they can find is an all girl band so the two dress up as a woman. In addition to hiding, they both have their own. problems. Then there are the problems.
The theme becomes evident when the main character, Charlie, and his “cousin of cousin” cotton, adventure into the woods and sugarcanes and find dead people’s bones, dead animals and scary alive people.
In the first major scene the boys are all in a tree house where the character Vern tells the other three boys about the body. Vern is the outcast of the group who is the ridicule of their jokes, Teddy is a boy who was abused by his father and is a strange child, Chris is the tough guy of the group and the leader and Gordy who is the narrator and the story is seen from his point of view. The boys are all convinced that going to look for the body and possibly finding it would make them all heroes
In this case a large engineering consulting firm was contracted by the government to perform civil engineering work for the installation of equipment that would be later used to train firefighters. Prior to the actual work being commenced on site, Donald J. Giffels, president of the consulting firm soon realized through careful observation that there was a significant amount of ambiguity in how critical safety systems were to be designed. In this situation, what are the ethical issues that the consulting firm faces in accepting such a contract from the government. What is the optimal strategy in responding to what Donald J. .Giffels identified as an unacceptable lapse in safety. These two important questions are discussed in further detail with a conclusion of noteworthy facts surrounding this case following.
For an abundance of authors, the driving force that aids them in creation of a novel is the theme or number of themes implemented throughout the novel. Often times the author doesn’t consciously identify the theme they’re trying to present. Usually a theme is a concept, principle or belief that is significant to an author. Not only does the theme create the backbone of the story, but it also guides the author by controlling the events that happen in a story, what emotions are dispersed, what are the actions of characters, and what emotions are presented within each environment to engage the readers in many
In Playboy of the Western World by John M. Synge, Widow Quin is an intriguing woman under suspicion for her husbands sudden death. Widow Quin has a goal throughout the play to formulate a relationship with Christy, a mysterious Playboy of the Western World. Putting this goal in front of much else, Widow Quin uses her devious voice and manipulative characteristic in her attempt to achieve this goal. Although mistaken as sympathetic at times, Widow Quin is constantly striving for this goal; and always has personal, selfish reasons for each statement crafted. Although some audience members may think that Widow Quin is a humane and sympathetic character, Widow Quin uses her manipulative tone to sneakily pursue her goal and deviously assert the
