Feed is a futuristic example of our planet, and is made in the image of what our planet will be. The environment is heavily abused by industrialism and causes devastating effects to humans. Feed tackles the abuse done by industrialism by letting us see how the new generation lives. Titus, a normal teen, has to come to realize the decline of the world and the destruction of the environment around him. Feed by M. T. Anderson is a worthwhile read because our environment is exploited by industrialism and impacts our generations to come. The environment is the most important aspect of our planet. Changing the environment causes pollution, temperature increase, deforestation, and impacts the general health of humans. Sam Myers, a principal research scientist for planetary health at Harvard Chan School, talks on a podcast, It’s Living on Earth. Myers explains the backlash from the environment. He says, “9 million excess deaths a year are attributable to pollution. And those deaths are non-communicable diseases, heart disease, stroke, respiratory disease, and some kinds of cancers” (Myers 3). Myers affirms that because of the environment and furthermore human’s actions, millions of lives in third world countries have to suffer the consequences of pollution and the environment’s wrath. Titus’s girlfriend Violet is very concerned about the environment, during Titus’s house party she explodes “Can I tell you what I see? Can I tell you what I mean?
