In the story, “The Storm” by Kate Chopin, Bobinot and Bibi were at the store when a storm started. Calixta was at home and went outside to get the clothes off the line when she sees Alcee. He comes inside to get shelter and they end up making love. Then he leaves. Her family then came home to find her very happy to see them. In the story, “The Storm” the author Kate Chopin uses strong language to tell the story. For example it says, “He stayed cushioned upon her, breathless, dazed, enervated, with his heart beating like a hammer upon her (Chopin 47). The language helps to show the relationship between the two and the desire that they had to fulfill themselves with each other.
