Stricter Gun Restrictions

The disagreement between people or group in the article “New critics emerge for lack of action on guns:students” is whether to have more gun restrictions. Some people think that because of the lack of stricter gun laws, the number of mass shootings are drastically increasing.However, other people believe that we already have strict gun laws and there is no need to modify the Second Amendment. In my opinion, the United States of America does have to have more stricter gun laws. According to the article it states that- “... prevent straw purchasing and to stop people on the no-fly list from purchasing firearms.” This piece of evidence explains that we need to have more stricter rules. For example- we need to require people to show why they want

concealed guns. Also, the government can require juries to allow law abiding citizens to carry guns. In my opinion, guns should only be used for military purposes. There shouldn’t be any reason a citizen would need to have firearms. According to the article it also states that- “Mental health services and school safety programs in response to the shootings. It’s my goal that this will never happen again in my state.” This piece of evidence also supports my claim and explains that we must have more stricter gun laws to reduce the number of mass shootings. Teachers should be attentive and identify people who pose threat. Young generations should stop posting about mass shootings in social medias because this will give the criminals fame and popularity. Schools should have body scanners in the entrance so we know if anyone has a gun. Additionally, we should realign the services around violence and prevention. I personally think that before giving gun licence, they should check the person’s mental state because usually incidents like mass shootings are done by people with mental issues. To conclude, there should be more gun restrictions.
