The war food is still heating up between McDonald’s and its competitors like Burger King, Yum! Brands, Wendy’s and Starbucks restaurants where food and drinks are prepared to serve the people prefer any kind soft of dine-in. These restaurants range from simple eating place where food is aimed to normal people for an affordable price to expensive dining places serving special food and wine to higher classes depending on their needs or culture where they’re operate and working in. Their low cost menu strategy has been effective in driving customer traffic and benefits customers through its low cost options. McDonald’s is also a pioneer in fast food restaurant chain; it takes the advantages of entering new markets around the world and this has equipped McDonald’s with largest market share. However, McDonald’s has problems providing unhealthy food and high employee turnover rates with workers’ strike (Fox 2012). Many years until now, McDonald’s has been recognized as fast food restaurant providing junk food as burgers, fries; and they were accused of causing obesity disease and many other diseases for people today. McDonald’s has been changing their menu many times by reducing calories, adding healthy food options such as salad, fruit and milk instead of providing fries, sodas in their standards meal. However, they haven’t successful at attracting customers with new healthier menu because it’s hard to make customers change their perception about McDonald’s nature. Besides, McDonald’s is also affected by operational risks; it has to face with labor strikes by its workers relating to the right of employees, increasing minimum hourly wages plus more pressure on workers. And this leads to workers strike every countries where McDonald’s operates and working in. In the future, its finance will be going down due to various factors such inflations, economic fluctuations, losing in money exchange, political issues and also from new entrants competitors around the world, so McDonald’s has to take actions to save their money and take customers back from its competitors by simplifying its menu and focusing on more local tastes. McDonald’s is known as rapid grow company, but in coming year it will slow down its expansion in some markets. The author also thinks that McDonald’s in some countries will face some lawsuits related to food quality from its suppliers, or some lawsuit about obesity from health organizations. In addition to that, McDonald’s recently lost its competitive advantages due to its complicated menu they created, it forces employees to remember all the items in menu and make its operation slowing down. According to the author, he sees that McDonald’s will make their menu simpler, cut some items in original menu in order to reduce pressure on employees and increase service
