While interviewing one of the most popular history teachers on campus at Madera High school, many topics were discussed regarding his job and students today. Mr.Hinton has been a teacher for many years, so he understands the positives and negatives about history and how there are a lot of people that are that are stereotyped and misconcepted a lot in this world. Also, how its not right to treat people of color and non color and as human beings like bad and rude and all the humans beings and a lot of other people should be treated correctly and not treated bad in this world not equally and unfairness. Also, how it's not far for people and students to stereotype people and how it makes people look bad and shouldn’t do that. Then, we talked about history in a whole. How in history everyone back in the day mostly everyone stereotyped Jews, indians and a lot of different people and how they got deported and when that happened it changed the whole world. Then, if people are going to stereotype people should keep it to a minimum and shouldn’t judge people at all. History teachers should get to know the students and everyone more better. Then, history teachers should treat the students the way that they would want to be treated and to help the students as well and shouldn’t assume and accuse the students or anyone about that matter until they have facts about that specific problem. Some facts are that people should be is no body should be judged the way there are by the way they look and by a lot of other ways to.

As a group, we believe that popular culture does in fact perpetuates stereotypes. Television is a main source of information of popular culture. Television has forever changed how humans have interacted with another and introduce a world of diversity and knowledge. But with this profit, television has also harbored negative aspects. As a group, we studied how racial stereotypes are portrayed in television. In the history of television, different racial and ethnic groups have been widely underrepresented and television itself has been overwhelming represented by white figures. And when racial groups are presented on TV, the characters are often played in limited roles based on stereotypes. A stereotype isn’t necessarily untrue, but it is an assumption based on an incomplete and complex ideas that are oversimplified into something that isn’t what it meant to be, and it’s usually negative. For example, African Americans are often depicted as violent or involved in some kind of criminal activity. Their characters often portrays a person who is always sassy and angry or that isn’t intelligent and won’t succeed in life and inferior to whites in some manner. Asian characters are
The preconceived notions we tend to burden can have a snowball effect, ingraining the same potentially damaging ideas into our children, grandchildren, and so on , especially because there is likely no recognition of an issue present in the first place. The white guy habitus we carry in our mind, generally unbeknownst to us, impairs the learning environment and too easily discredits qualified professionals that are women or of color. The bias we have towards white men in the classroom only contributes to the structural gender disparity that is apparent in the world, and particularly in the United States. I believe our school should take a step towards improving its culture by getting rid of stereotypes and promoting equality. To make our school a better and safer place, we should try and stop people from thinking about and believing stereotypes. So students will not be hindered in any aspect of their school experience, and so they may do their best and get a fair chance for their future. I talked about a lot about race, ethnicity, and the different movies we watched in this paper. I believe that continuing on in this class will help myself get a better understanding of different races and cultures, which will make me more knowledgeable in the future and better me in the long run. I cannot wait to see what we are going to learn about in the weeks to come!
RaStereotyping is a way of thinking about groups of people. It ignores the differences of the group, while emphasizing its similarity. One belief, that is a stereotype, is that red-haired people are hot tempered. Another belief is that Scottish people are stingy. Such thinking ignores many even-tempered redheads and generous Scottish people. Stereotyping emphasizes many differences between groups while ignoring their similarities to other people. It ignores that many blond and brown-haired people also lose their tempers. Stereotyping overlooks the fact that many American, Brazilians and French people are stingy.

Imagine that you are of Arab decent you being screened more thoroughly than others at the airport. The only way the airport staff can identify that you are of Arab decent is based on your family name, Najjar. The airport staff constantly takes extra measures to confirm that you are not a terrorist. Stereotypes have existed in American culture for centuries. Early in American history stereotypes of Negroes and Mexicans predominately associate them with lower-class attributes (Campbell, 1967).
The world of today is a relatively primitive one, even with every advancement that humanity has accomplished we remain primitive in this aspect. There has been progress, even as slow in comparison to that of todays, it is progress.The ignorances and other human flaws are still very existent within every society, regardless of the boundaries between them be it geographical or cultural. Stereotypes and misconceptions exist in the modern society. Stereotypes arise when there is a single radical group who are accepted as the representation of their apparent subculture. Then the ignorant and misinformed take these “representatives’” behavior as a generalization of the entire group. While the less common misconception is made by some incomprehensible anomaly where an entire assumption is based around a single social group, that has never even proved to be true. There is a stereotype that is attached with the College educated community, they are believed to be almost guaranteed success. The fact that they have a degree in their respective field has built a stereotype of the “successful ones.”
People being generalized based on limited and inaccurate information by sources as television, cartoons or even comic books (Tripod). This is a definition that seems to go against many public standards. The above words are the exact definition of stereotypes. Stereotypes as understood from the definition, goes mostly hand in hand with media -- only not the regular meaning of the innocent media we know. Media propaganda is the other form of media that is rather described as media manipulation. In this paper, the following will be discussed: first, how stereotypes of ethnic groups function in propaganda, why does it function so well, and finally, the consequences of these stereotypes on the life of Egyptians in particular in society. A fair examination will be conducted on this example of stereotypes through clarification examples and research results from researches conducted from reliable sources. The real association between Egyptians’ stereotypes and propaganda discussed in this paper shall magnify the association of stereotypes and propaganda in general.
Stereotypes : you can’t live with them and you can live without them. They are widely but are oversimplified image or idea of a particular type or thing. People are stereotype in many ways. This can either be true or just a make up against them. A particular stereotype that boggles my mind are the ones against my race , Asians. To other people , Asians have small eyes,short and identical, knows martial art , and lack communication skills.. It’s what society got use to seeing us and these stereotypes are the one that were known for. Culture discrimination still exist today and affects many people around the world. There are many people that are getting stereotype on a daily basis . It happens everywhere and it doesn’t pick any moment, place, or time.
A significant problem of practice in education is teacher bias. Teacher bias has implications around race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality and socioeconomic status. Teachers must be willing to examine their beliefs, acknowledge and overcome their biases. Teachers need to evaluate their practices in relation to their ideals as well as recognize and assess the position of power they hold in their classrooms in order to be true Social Justice Educators (Cooper, 2003).
It is very important for teacher educators to develop self-awareness of cultural biases and discriminatory practices as well as to exam the effects of their beliefs, their attitudes, and expectations for teacher
In the modern era, stereotypes seem to be the ways people justify and simplify the society. Actually, “[s]tereotypes are one way in which we ‘define’ the world in order to see it” (Heilbroner 373). People often prejudge people or objects with grouping them into the categories or styles they know, and then treat the types with their experiences or just follow what other people usually do, without truly understand what and why. Thus, all that caused miscommunication, argument or losing opportunities to broaden the life experience. Stereotypes are usually formed based on an individual’s appearance, race, and gender that would put labels on people.
