I take the heels off my aching feet and remove my eyeliner; sometimes I wonder why I ever take this job. Even though I have a place in Manhattan Park Apartments with a great view of the city and of course my Persian cat, Delta, writing a weekly article for the NY Times can be trying and hectic, especially when you are writing on some pretty controversial stuff. I'm mean, I'm talking about everything from violence in the media to this week's "E- Love", about singles finding love through Websites online.
My boss is a fast pace man with an eye for great articles, and those that are a product of me are no exception. I came to him last week with the idea of doing this story. I had already found three very different websites; each containing contrasting thoughts and ideas of what these sites should consist of. "Mr. Lance, I have an idea..." He was astounded, this was exciting because I'm really trying to move my way up the corporate latter and every little bit helps. Making the boss happy is at the top of my priority list. "Ms. Nash, I think that is a great idea, good work," he said with a relieving smile. I could feel my day perk up, I better start making some phone calls and get some good quotes. I walked out of his office with an undeniable glow. Then the suggestion came that shot down the cloud that I was riding on. "Hey Nash, one more thing, maybe you should have dinner with all of them at the same time, it should add some appeal to your article." Before I could even reply, the door shut and that was that.
So, where do you take three totally different people to dinner? Then it came to me. The Waldorf . Yes, dinner would be beautiful with a striking view of the city, and delectable food on the paper's tab. I made reservations for seven- thirty and made the phone calls to my prospective guests. Of course, all could come and so it was set. If the night turned out to be a total disaster, at least they would get a great meal at a world- renowned place.

Self-motivation and determination are two of the main ideals of being journalist. If a journalist does not have the desire to find and report a story, he has no career. A journalist depends on finding the facts, getting to the bottom of the story and reporting to the public, whether it’s positive or negative. It is quite will known that that fast food is junk food, and daily consumption of junk food will have detrimental affects on one’s health. Junk foods are essentially foods with little or no nutritional value. Add high amounts of sodium, and excess cholesterol, also in addition to all that are high levels of trans and saturated fats. A cold and rainy day in the UK, which are like most days there, on January 1st, 1927 birth of an idealistic concept was born. Produce publicly funded T.V. programming, yet keep it separate from state. The choices that lay ahead were, to charge the public for the programming, or sell airtime commercially to fund public TV and radio. The UK unlike the Americas choose to charge the public, by means of a TV License rather than sell commercial time. After doing a survey, almost 70% of participants stated, “commercials would take too much away from the enjoyment of the Telly.”¹ As the TV license for programming progressed it became a law and tax, which would contradict the earlier of keeping it separate from state.
There are two views for different people that have different ways of seeing things. People see the good which is, its fast, cheap, tasty, convenient, and it hits the spot when you 're hungry and in a hurry. Then there 's the down side to it fast food is loaded with calories, sodium, fats, and oils. Some of the meals on the menu are full of calories fit to consume in an entire day. People who are trying to watch their weight and calorie intake have difficulty eating at a fast food restaurant. My opinion on fast food is that even though people know that it’s not rich in nutrients and is unhealthy to consume they still chose to eat it. I think that the consumption of fast food is alright as long as they
Fast food affects people’s lives dramatically. It causes health issues from serious weight gain to diabetes. The contents in the food cause some people to have addictions to the food to where they would eat it every day. Fast food usually has no organic foods in them; they have artificial factory-made foods that have a lot of fat and sugar. McDonalds, Taco Bell, Burger King etc. are not places that people should eat every day; people should only eat it once a week if even that often. Harmful eating disorders due to fast food include compulsive overeating, bulimia, the binge, purge syndrome, anorexia nervosa, and self-starvation. Sometimes eating fast food is not bad it is only bad when you consume huge amounts of it.
It's quick, it's convenient, it's delicious. Fast food is the most popular quick-service nourishment. It plays an important roll in the lives that we humans so perfectly laid out for ourselves. Why try cooking when you can get food at a much faster rate? To most people, fast food is the answer to all of our problems. It is good in every possible way, or is it? Although some might deny the consequences, we all know there is a steep price to pay. So here by today, I am asking you to have a closer look at the hidden dangers. In my opinion, we should free the world of fast food because, not only are they adding the amount of cruelty to animals and draining money out of our pockets, they're also taking great risk of the health of billions of people.
