“Saint Nicholas, also called Nikolaos of Myra, was a historic 4th-century Christian saint and Greek Bishop of Myra, in Asia Minor.” He was born in Patara, Lycia, Turkey on March 15, 270 AD and passed away on the sixth of December 343 AD. St. Nicholas was a bishop who helped those that were in need and that were sick, after he passed away in December he turn into the legendary character known as Santa Claus now this was because he was a gift-giving person when he was alive. His feast day is in December 6 of every year, St. Nicholas is an inspiring saint from my perspective as a person.
Saint Nicholas had some significant events happen to him when he was a young that made had have the impact of what he did in his life. Nicholas parents died when he was young and left him a lot of money, which made him a rich man after time. “He lost both of his parents as a young man and reportedly used his inheritance to help the poor and sick.” His uncle took care of Nicholas and raised him after they passed away. Later on St. Nicholas served in Myra as a bishop, Myra is a city now known as Demre. …show more content…

Nicholas was best known for him helping those in needs and the ones who were sick, he did most of that with the money his parents left him after they passed away instead of him keeping it all to himself and being selfish. Saint Nicholas has many legends of how he helped others in need, one of them stories explains how he helped out this three girls that his father didn't have enough money to pay their dowries so he was thinking of selling them into servitude. So what Nicholas did was to go into their home three times and put bags filled with money in their table to help them out, nut on the third time St. Nicholas went to the house he got caught by the father of the girls and the guy thanked him for his act of kindness. “He also reportedly saved three men who were falsely imprisoned and sentenced to death.” Since St. Nicholas was so kind and helpful therefore he became into a
