Good morning everybody! (Grateful for the opportunity to speak, thank you to those who have come to support me...etc)
Share where you’ve been called to serve- Knoxville, Tennessee, English speaking, and I report to the Provo MTC on the 29th.
I’m going to quickly share a little bit about how I came to the decision to serve a mission. When I was younger, the thought of a mission really appealed to me, but, I used to think “21 is wayyy too old...I don’t want to wait that long, besides, I’ll probably be married by then!” Then when I was 16, they lowered the mission age for sisters to 19. I was really excited because 19 was a lot closer than 21 so it made serving a mission seem like something that I could actually do, because the desire was definitely there. As a went through high school and graduated, i began to feel pressure to have everything the world tells us we should have. College, money, tons of friends, etc.. So I began thinking a mission just wasn’t for me. And then, at the end of my first semester of college, I just felt like something was missing from my life. I find the best way to put it is I felt like I was trying to skip a step in the plan that my Father in Heaven already had for me. So I began praying, and asking Heavenly Father what he wanted me to do. Then I had the opportunity to go to a YSA fireside where Elder M. Russell Ballard spoke, and it was then that I received the answer to my prayers, I needed to go on a mission. The prompting was so clear, and I could feel the love that the Lord has for me so strongly. I told my parents the next day about my desire to serve a mission,

Today is a day where we honor our fathers (or grandfathers, uncles, stepfathers, etc…) and show gratitude for all they do for us. I can’t help but feel that we should also take a moment of our day today (and everyday, for that matter) to kneel in prayer and thank our Heavenly Father for all he has done for us and all he has blessed us
“Land of the free and the home of the brave.” This line has represented the United States for decades. These words were captured in The Star Spangled Banner by Francis Scott Key and since 1913, the United States has adopted The Star-Spangled Banner as its national anthem. We have used the Red, White, and Blue as one of our nation’s symbols. It has fifty stars, to represent the number of states we have in our Union. The military pledges its allegiance to the flag and the country which it represents at all costs. We are the land of the free and the home of the brave, and we are proud to show it.
Good evening. I would like to begin by welcoming each and every one of you to this joyous and stressful occasion.
It was strange, I had always wanted to experience what a mission trip was like. Although, when I thought about actually pursuing to go on one I would once again shove the thought in the back of my brain, in hopes of forgetting about it entirely. Until one day, I was reintroduced to the idea once again. My friend Nick and I were in Math class one day when Nick said, “
I would like to thank all of you for coming here today to help us, as a family, to heal, and to celebrate my mother’s life.
A mission trip is an amazing opportunity, not a responsibility, to go out of the comfort of your perfect house and step into the dirt floors of other countries. Open up your hearts to help other people, not because of the responsibility that has been bestowed upon you, because you don’t have a responsibility, but because you have been blessed with an opportunity to help other people.
As the homeless rates in Las Vegas continue to rise, we can all play a role in connecting with our community by helping the others.
When talking about the current space program, Neil Degrasse Tyson once said, “I got angry with America, because advancing is not just something you do incrementally. You need innovation as well, so that your advances are revolutionary, not merely evolutionary” (Tyson 3). America used to have the top space program in the world. Being first to the moon excited the country and gave everyone a sense of pride and fulfillment. Lately, though, we have been falling behind in space exploration. A successful space program is needed in America, and here’s why: we are losing our grip on the title as the world superpower and a new age of economics and politics is coming faster than we are prepared for. To be prepared for this new age we need the funds,
Good afternoon, let me just start by saying that the kindness, support, friendship, and love extended to me and my family during this difficult time has really touched my heart- we are sincerely appreciative!
Before I begin I would like to thank all of you here on behalf of my mother, my brother and myself, for your efforts large and small to be here today, to help us mark my fathers passing.
I: Have you ever wondered how to mend all the things that are wrong in the world and make them right? Have you ever felt that things need to be changed?
Main Point: and what our community could look like if we all did our part.
The main reason I wanted to make a speech was to personally say thank you to some very special people who have contributed to today:
Self-awareness is not about reading a book or attending a course. Self-awareness is a journey, and it takes practice. It’s like a muscle that becomes more effective with time and effort. It gives us mental strength as opposed to physical strength. We are constantly changing and adapting to the multiple external forces around us and to our individual experiences. The more we learn to be aware of, and understand, our reactions, thoughts, and emotions, while also keeping in mind our values, the more we can become the best we can be and the more successful we can become.
Many people believe that leadership is simply being the first, biggest or most powerful. Leadership in organizations has a different and more meaningful definition. A leader is someone who sets direction in an effort or task and influences or motivates people to follow that direction. The power point presentation explains leadership is the influence that particular individuals exert on the goal achievement of others in an organizational context.
Valedictorian Speech Good evening fellow graduates, teachers, family members, friends, and distinguished guests. It is a tremendous honor to be the valedictorian of our graduating class. My job is to somehow be the voice of the entire graduating class, and take five minutes to say a few words on behalf of all 539 of us. Like most valedictorians, writing this speech was not an easy task for me. Not because I did not have anything to say, but because I was overwhelmed by how much I wanted to share with you all on this day. Tonight, we have one common purpose, to celebrate. We are here to congratulate, to look towards what the future holds for us, to wish each other well, and to, most importantly look back on our time spent here. So, I would like to start by saying 'well done' to my fellow graduates, who have all worked hard during the past several years to reach this milestone. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to the graduating class for selecting me to speak here tonight. Ever since the news broke, many people, some who've I've never really met before, have come up to me and have wished me well. Perhaps this speech would be incomplete if I don’t say something to the teachers. On the behalf of my entire class, I would like to thank all my teachers: thank you. Thank you for teaching us, for leading us, for building us up as adults. I know that we have not given back to you the respect you deserve. I know that we have not told you how much we appreciate you taking time out of your schedules to help us. And I know that we have not said thank you for giving us a wonderful education. So, I hope that as I say thanks, you can forget our shortcomings and remember us for who we are and not from the mistakes we have made. ...
