Everybody has that one special person that is or was in their life at one time that has helped shaped them into the person they are now. For myself, that person is my very own mother. This phenomenal person has been my biggest support system and my closest friend. She has taught me compassion, patience, and understanding, not a lot of people are lucky enough to have a mom like mine. Together we have seen history change right before our very eyes and because of her being by my side through all of the ups and downs, I have a greater understanding of the world and hope that one day I can change it for the better. My mother 's name is Jodella Lee Smith and she was born in Westerville, Ohio in October of 1976. She was 1 of three other girls …show more content…
I was 7 but remember that day vividly. I was in class taking a spelling test when the teachers gathered around the small t.v sitting in the corner of my classroom. I didn’t understand why they were all crying until some kid had asked what happened. A plane that was hijacked was flown into a pair of buildings in New York. For someone my age I didn’t know what a terrorist was but from what my teachers told me, they were bad guys that like to hurt people, and that 's all she said as she sat with my class until our parents came to pick us up early from school. My mother had close friends living in New York just a few blocks away from the Twin Towers, my mother told me how I cried about them and wanted to see if they were okay, she described me as inconsolable, “You were scared” just like a few days later we were in her car and on our way to see them.” We drove there to reassure you. It changed the way we …show more content…
Even though she was not the first choice, she still held a lot of the same points Sanders did and even adapted some of his views to persuade those that did not want to accept her as the nomination. She won the popular vote but lost the electoral college vote, and is now looking for a recount in a couple swing states. She believed in gender equality along we equal pay, women 's rights, and trans LGTBQ rights. Her campaign backed by the Obamas was a campaign to show diversity, love, and acceptance. “ I voted for Clinton because, she didn’t make fun of the disabled, didn’t vilify Muslims, Mexicans, immigrants, Blacks and the LGBTQ
September 11, 2001 was a day that Americans and the world for that matter will not soon forget. When two planes went into the twin towers of the World Trade Center and two others went into the Pentagon and a small town in Pennsylvania, the world was rocked. Everyone in the United States felt very vulnerable and unsafe from attacks that might follow. As a result, confidence in the CIA, FBI, and the airlines were shaken. People were scared to fly after what had happened.
The worst terrorist attack in U.S history occurred on September 11, 2001. According to U.S government officials, nineteen men hijacked four fuel-loaded commercial planes with the intent to destroy the World Trade Center in New York City, as well as both the Pentagon and the White House in Washington D.C. The attacks began at 8:46am ET when American Airline’s Flight 11 struck the North tower of the World Trade Center, causing chaos on the streets below. Not even twenty minutes later, another commercial plane, United Airlines Flight 175, struck the south tower. Americans and people all over the world watched helplessly as the action on the East Coast unfolded. Any American old enough to remember can most likely tell you exactly where he or she was at the moment of the attacks. Whether we watched the terror in New York City on a television screen or experienced it first-hand, the sight of the initial impact of the planes on the World Trade Center, of bodies falling from the highest floors of the towers, and of chaos on the streets is truly unforgettable. Following the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, a third plane, American Airline’s Flight 77, hit the side of the Pentagon building in Washington D.C. Citizens of Washington were shocked, knowing that the terror unfolding in New York was not the only matter of worry. While our nation’s capital dealt with a crisis in its own city, the trouble in New York City was still at large. At 9:59am ET, the south tower of the World Trade Center collapsed, creating a cloud of debris large enough to cover the entire city. The north tower followed suite around thirty minutes later, but before that, it was reported that a fourth plane, United Airlines Flight 93, had crashed in a fie...
February 26, 1993, the day that terrorists made the biggest attack on American soil to that point. It was early afternoon on a Friday, 12:18 pm to be exact, a car bomb ripped through the guts of the now infamous North World Trade Center twin tower. It happened very quickly, and without warning, normal people were simply going about their daily business, when all of a sudden, the building shook, the power went out, and smoke began to fill all 110 floors of the towers. Many wondered what had happened, had a plane struck the building, was it an earthquake? D, none of the above, some crazed maniac had decided to kill 5 people and injure many more just to get some point across.

Some people believe her values are “a result of having lived through the depression” (Harris 673). She has seen the worst and hopes to make things better for her people. As a child, Clinton was “earning merit badges in girl scouts and starring in the girls softball league” (Harris 674). She has always believed women were smart and strong. Earning badges and playing sports might not seem like much, but it taught a young Clinton that women can do anything they set their mind to. Clinton went off to college and met her husband Bill Clinton there. As the couple got older, Bill decided he wanted to run for president. Hillary “went to Indiana to coordinate the campaign” (Harris 678) for Bill. From the start to the end of Bill’s presidency, Hillary was “extremely active in government affairs” (Hurley 204). She “[emphasized] the need for a global feminist agenda” (Hurley 204-205). Even though Bill was the president, Hillary applied herself as if she were the president. She encouraged equality for genders. Her speech “Women’s Rights Are Human Rights” was given right in the middle of Bill’s presidency. She used her economic power to create awareness of the gender inequality in the

I will start off by talking about my amazing mother and how she helped me out in the long run. My mother taught me to never rely on anyone that I can do whatever I set my mind to. She also told me that life is full of mistakes, and I would always learn from them. She taught me how to cook so if you ever want something to eat you know who to come to.
The most impactful individual in my life is my mother, Samantha Jarvis, and that is because, she is the one person I know will always be there for me and guide me when I need help. Its safe to say that I would not exist without her (and my dad) and while that is physically true, I also believe that I would not the person I am today without her. My mom has always encouraged me, even from a young age, to chase my passion for learning and find the answers to my questions. She is the one, I get most of morals, ideals, and work ethic from. My mom is one of those people who give a lot and expect nothing in return. She has been the sole provider of my family for the past 18 years due to my father having a broken back and being unable to work. She also the one that does the cleaning around the house, runs errands around town, takes time off work or skips lunch to take me or my sibling to therapy or, to the doctor’s office, and just about everything else.
She was able to deliver such an exceptional speech because of her knowledge and credibility on the topic. Clinton is a woman and frequently has to deal with her own right to be treated as equal to men. Politics is viewed as a man 's job, viewing women as though they cannot do as good of a job as men. Clinton has also traveled the women talking to many women about the struggles they encounter, “Over the past 25 years, I have worked persistently on issues relating to women, children, and families. Over the past two and a half years, I 've had the opportunity to learn more about the challenges facing women in my own country and around the world” (Clinton). The Women’s rights battle is an important topic for Clinton. She was able to see, first hand, mothers fighting for healthcare, education, food, and safer housing and town for themselves and their children. By adding her own experience and knowledge on top of the heartbreaking facts and struggles of women makes this speech even more
Even before my first tear hits the ground, my mother is there to wipe it away. My mother feels my pain before I can even realize it. She understands my needs before I can even think of them. That’s why we call her a mother. My mother has been an extraordinary influence on my life and always will be. She’s the kind of mom who would always take time out and care for her four children and the mom who would never let her hardships in her life distress her kids. My mother has always been a very strong role model to me, and growing up with someone like her to look up to has changed my life in many ways. She has helped me grow physically, intellectually, and considerately. She taught me to always love, care, and give back to the people I am grateful for.
Once in our lives, we will come across having to prepare a special occasion. It is always better to know how in advance. Also, the process of preparing for special occasion might be difficult at the beginning but once you organize yourself, it will become easier. When preparing for a special occasion there are three things you should take into consideration: the invitation, the food/gifts and the place.
A lot of different things can impact a person’s life in such a way that it is unforgettable. For example, it could be the time you took a hike up a towering mountain and ended up getting peaceful view of the urban cityscape, or even the time you went to your first dreadful sleepover and were trembling with fear. It could even be person or multiple people such as friends, siblings, teachers, and even mentors. Personally, my family has been the people that have ultimately had the most influence on me as an individual. Family can vary from person to person, but for me it is the absolute most important thing I have. The people that have had a profound impact on me is my family; the way that different personalities all come together as one, the way they handle hard situations, and the closeness I have with the, is very inspiring to me.
Everyone has had accomplishments in their life, and behind those accomplishments is someone who has had an impact on their life. My mother is my greatest influence for several reasons. She supports me, and the decisions I make, showed me that success comes from hard work, she inspires me and taught me to always believe in myself.
All in all, my mother has had a great impact on my life. She encourages me to always grow and blossom into a better person each day of my life. No matter what happens in life, she has taught me to have faith and keep a smile on my face because better days will come. She’s been supportive and makes sure that I continue to prosper. Also, she has helped mold me into the young adult I am today and the success adult that I am sure to be in my future. My mother has greatly affected my life and for that she is greatly
