Have you seen the effects of climate change yet? Climate change is the transformation of our weather and global patterns. Climate change doesn’t happen overnight; in fact, the change of the climate takes years to see. Fossil fuels are one reason our climate is changing for the worst because fossil fuels create Carbon Dioxide. Deforestation is a cause of climate change because we have less trees to produce oxygen. Increasing our waste is destroying most of our forestland. Climate change is causing our Arctic animals to go extinct. The amount of water we use is causing droughts. There are many causes and effects of climate change; however, there are many solutions we can fix today.
To start with, we are changing our world by using fossil fuels. …show more content…

“There’s one reason that never goes away, one evergreen excuse not to act: “you’re a hypocrite”” (McKibben, 669). Although most public transportation consumes gasoline, taking the train is still a better option, rather than driving a car every day that runs on fuel. Furthermore, solar panels being installed on a roof, is a better option than doing nothing at all. To add, solar panels will save so much money on someone’s ComEd bill and electric bill. Solar panels are a great investment for saving money and for helping the planet. A hypocrite is someone who would complains about how the CO2 is destroying the planet, but this hypocrite doesn’t do anything about it. It is extremely hard to replace fossil fuel because this whole world runs on it. A person who is recycling and using less energy is a better person, than a person who doesn’t do anything at all. It is not being a hypocrite when a person uses less energy but still uses fossil fuel. It is impossible to not use fossil fuel in this country, unless a person goes off into the forest and lives there forever. “I’m fully embedded in the world that fossil fuel has made, that from the moment I wake up, almost every action I take somehow burns coal and oil” (McKibben, 669-670). McKibben says, that almost anything we do burns fossil fuel. We can’t just change individuals to become eco-friendly, but we have to change the whole system. The whole …show more content…

We have only one planet to protect. We are not advanced enough to colonize other planets and destroy them. Fossil fuels are increasing the Carbon Dioxide in Earth’s atmosphere. Increasing the waste is destroying most of our forestland. We are depriving Oxygen from deforestation. Climate change is causing our Arctic animals to go extinct. The amount of water we use is causing
