The soldier on the hill had become a fantasy, as though he’d forgotten he was flesh and blood.Soldier On The Hill is a Historical Fiction by Jackie French who has written over 140 books. The story Soldier on the hill is about a boy Joey who knows there is a Jap hiding in the hills, the Jap took Joey out of the mineshaft and lit a fire to alert Joey’s community on his whereabouts. No one believes Joey so Joey wants to find the Jap himself and prove that it was not just a nightmare. Despite That the Japanese soldier is being stereotyped as the evil enemy he is actually a selfless and courageous friend. The Japanese soldier was not selfish in the novel Soldier On The Hill.
