The Lord Of The Flies In the book “The Lord Of The Flies” the main question that the reader must ask themselves is when is their society going to fall? During the time that the boys spend on the island, it won’t be soon until they turn savage against one another, causing chaos. In the story, their society is very well represented by things such the conch,and Ralph vs. Jack. Society will crumble if there is no structure. Society plays an enormous role in our lives today. The young English boys’ society is represented by a conch shell. The conch symbolizes civilization, if that gets broken then there will be no order left. First it started with hunting and killing a mama pig then, it progressed into hunting each other. The first victim of the human vs. human hunt was Simon,the one who is somewhat like jesus and is the first to realize that the beast isn’t real that it was just inside of them. He was an innocent boy hurrying to tell the others the news about the beast but, he never could, because he was struck down and killed by the savage ways of the others before he could say a word. "Surrounded by a fringe of inquisitive bright creatures, itself a silver shape beneath the steadfast constellations, Simon's dead body moved out toward the open sea"(Golding 154). The next target was Ralph, he was the only one left that hadn’t given into the savage ways but, once the others started to hunt after him he had to become savage in order to outsmart the others. Ralph ran and hid in the jungle as best as he could and now he was just waiting for the others to find him so he could attack them but, during that time he was thinking about all that has happened Simon and Piggy’s death,the destruction of the Conch and civilization along with
