Communication changes as technology progress and closes the bridge between how people interact with one another. Through technology, people around the world can communicate with one another even if they are in two different countries. The largest form of technology people use to connect with one another is the Internet where people can participate in, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, LinkedIn, and many other social websites. Social network site popularity is overwhelmingly high even major corporations have accounts allowing people to like their page or follow the company. When a person wants to have a video chat they can use a webcam, and using a webcam give people the opportunity to visually see the person and the person’s environment. Today, people openly and publically share information about their life on social networks from activities to pictures of their life without too much concern for who can all read and see the information. Technology is a useful tool to connect people across the globe, yet people use social network sites to communicate openly by publically posting information about their life which decreases the persons privacy since anybody can have access to the information and where the boundary lies between personal and public life.

People use social network sites to interact with people and stay connected. This ability to stay connected gives people a sense of wholeness, self worth, and a purpose in life. Yet, there is this fear of privacy on the Internet and through social networking media. These nude pictures especially if they are of women allow for the male gaze as the nude pictures openly display the body for males to look at.
