My first observation is that the soccer game is played on a rectangle field with net goals at either end in which two teams of 11 players each try to drive a ball into the others goal by kicking, heading, or using any part of the body except the arm and hands. Only the goal keepers on either side are allowed to touch the ball with his hands and arms except in the case of throw-ins.There are two teams playing against each other with different colour of jerseys to identify each team. when I got to the field, I noticed that the turf soccer field (synthetic grass) which the players played on was really hot, because it is a synthetic grass, it gets really hot, which does not produce enough oxygen and does not absorb carbon dioxide which
made some soccer players sweat and get dehydrated, due to dehydration they drink lots of water. On each team they had the keeper, which is there to prevent the opposing team from scoring, which means preventing the ball from entering the goal post. They also had four different types of defenders, which are the centre-back, sweeper, full-back, and wing-back. Their role is to prevent the opposing team from scoring goals. The midfielders are between the defenders and the strikers, they play a more defensive role basically they help tackle and prevent the opposing team from scoring. The strikers are really fast, therefore they have more speed and moments, they play nearest to the opposing team's goal, and are responsible for scoring goals. I could see people cheering for the players, some soccer players were shouting pass the ball from each team. I could hear the referee who has full authority to enforce the laws of the game and his final decision is made by the blow of his whistle. I could hear some specific words such as penalty kick which means a player is to kick the ball into the post by taking a shot. I could also hear goal kick, corner kick, throw-ins, and free kicks, foul and offside. These words are used on the field; they are laws that should be followed. Red card, yellow cards are warning cards shown to players by the referee. Soccer players as a whole, communicate sometimes nicely and sometimes not nicely. When a communication does not go nicely is usually between opposite teams, it’s usually caused when there is either an argument or misunderstanding. When playing or after playing they celebrate when a player demonstrate supreme teamwork and support each other. I observed that the boys playing soccer were from ages 15 to 17. They all motivated each other, which makes them play better, run faster, stronger, focus and happy. During the match the coach also maintained appropriate motivational levels during match situations, they say the right things and provide the right tips. This helps balance the pressure level in the group. The game lasted for sixty minutes, thirty minutes for first half of the game and thirty minutes for the second half of the game. This helps balance the workload for the players. when it is half time, their couches have time to guild and tell them how to score and rearrange the formation for better result. I asked the coach which is the supervisor, how he makes his team work perfectly. He said in soccer, motivation is perhaps the most important component of an effective soccer coaching.

In the first photo, a girl and a boy are preparing to play a game of soccer. Male dominance in the sport can be reflected by any aspects of the photo including the position of the boy; his gesture to obtain the ball from the female portrays that he does not feel that she is not capable of starting the game. By reaching out for the ball, he expects her to submit an...
Suppose you kick a soccer ball without giving it any spin. Your foot, therefore, gives the ball an initial speed (v) and an initial angular speed of 0. Since grass is not frictionless, the ball initially slides across the field, then starts to rotate and, eventually, starts rolling without slipping. A soccer ball rolls without slipping when its center-of-mass speed equals its angular speed (around its center of mass). OK, now suppose you want to kick the ball so that it immediately starts rolling without slipping. How? You would give the ball "topspin" by striking the ball a distance (s) above an imaginary horizontal line that passes through the ball's center. But where? ANSWER: s=0.4R. You would strike the ball a little less than half the radius of the ball above its center line.
The debate on artificial turf continues to rage on. Artificial turf has been structurally designed to be a safer surface than grass and to be unaffected by weather. Have engineers succeeded in their goal? It has been said that artificial turf has different properties than grass, and when forces act upon it, artificial turf reacts differently and causes more injuries. I have played the majority of my sports on artificial turf over the last couple years. I have always wondered if the artificial turf has any effect on injuries. Obviously I want to play on the safest surface possible. Is artificial turf that surface? This paper will answer the research question: In what ways does artificial turf affect player injuries?
To head, or not to head, that is the question In today’s world, the benefits of sports are huge. Sports are a way of teaching key skills that parents can’t such as sportsmanship, social values and many more. One of the most popular sports all over the world is soccer; hence soccer is the first sport that many children play and later on love. Within the past couple years, controversies have arisen over whether or not children should be heading the soccer ball while playing.
In the world of sport, soccer and football with respect to demographic has had numerous controversies. Although both sport are known famously around the globe, for many years fans from both sides are known for asking, is American football same as soccer? What’s the time limit on both sports? What’s the game objective? Do they use the same ball? However they both have similarities and differences which I will be talking about in this essay.
In conclusion, football and soccer have their similarities, but these similarities are superficial. There are many fundamental differences, such as the use of one’s hands being illegal in soccer, except for the goalie when he/she is inside his/her respective eighteen-yard boundary. Another example is the alternation of a team’s offense and defense in football as opposed to the simultaneous effort of the offense and defense in soccer. These differences in rules, rituals, and concepts distinguish these two sports from each other. However, there are similarities, such as the fact that both sports allow eleven players on each team to play on the field at a time. Also, the area where one scores is in the same locations in both sports, the end zones of football and the goals of soccer are on opposite sides of the field.
It was a bright, August day, with a temperature to match. At least 85°, sun outside was at its peak, with not a cloud to be seen for miles. Such a day is almost unheard of in southern Germany, where the weather tends to be milder year round. It was the perfect day to begin the new season, as well as my first match. I had played many games before this day – nine years’ worth in fact. However, they had all been in the United States, where football is the king of sports. Although the atmosphere was similar, there were distinct, yet almost intangible differences. Many devoted soccer fans do exist in the United States, but the aura at many matches seems to be rather lackluster. Many of those present appear to be disinterested, and it is rarer to see a full venue than in Europe. The set up and division of the sport alone set itself apart from the US. Schools do not have sports teams, only clubs and cities do. Most of the players had been with the same coach and team members since they...
In the 19th century, soccer started to come to life in America. Some colleges started to play the game in the 1820s, with the first contest taking place at Harvard in 1827. Then, a huge invention took place in 1855. That year, the Charles Goodyear soccer ball was invented. Charles Goodyear created these soccer balls with vulcanized rubber. 12 years later in 1867, soccer took two huge steps. The first standardized soccer rules were published that year. Now, graduates from different schools could play together and had proper rules to follow when playing a game. But later that year, another just as, if not mor...
In a soccer game there are two teams of 11 players who try to score a point by kicking a ball into the opponents net. Soccer is played on a rectangular field with a net on each short side of the field. All players must hit the ball with their feet or body and only the goalie is allowed to touch the ball with his/her hands. There are many things you can do to condition yourself to play.
The definition of soccer: “A game played by two teams of eleven players with a round ball that may not be touched with the hands or arms during play except by the goalkeepers. The object of the game is to score goals by kicking or heading the ball into the opponent 's ' goal.” When I think about the thing I’m most passionate about, soccer pops into my head right away. Soccer represents more than just a game to me. The sport gives me an outlet distract me from the real world, it taught me to overcome a battle that shaped my character, and my teammates bring out the best in me.
Football, which is commonly known today as Soccer, began in Europe during the Middle Ages (Leibs 67). “By the early 1600s, the game developed a...
The amazing game of soccer is played on every continent, and is the world’s most popular sport. It is proven to be one of the number one sports to be played and watched. Because its fans and players are so dedicated, the sport continues to grow. Two teams of eleven players each participate in getting the ball into the other team’s goal, thus scoring a goal. The team that has scored more goals at the end of the game wins. If both teams have scored an equal number of goals, then the game is a tie. Each team is controlled by a captain. In game play, players make an effort to create goal scoring occasions through individual control of the ball, such as dribbling, passing the ball to a team-mate, and by taking shots at the goal, that is guarded by the goalkeeper belonging to the other team....
