Results:
As shown in the data, the size 4 ball travelled the the greatest distance with an average of 27.6 yards. The size 5 ball travelled an average of 26.6 yards, the size 3 ball travelled an average of 22.8 yards, and lastly the size 2 ball travelled an average of 21.6 yards.
Conclusion:
This investigation was conducted to determine if different soccer ball sizes affected the distance each soccer ball would travel when kicked. The hypothesis was that If the sizes of the soccer ball are changed, then the ball with the smallest size will go the farthest because, it has less air and weighs less than larger soccer balls. The results of this investigation did not support the hypothesis. The size 4 ball travelled the greatest distance compared to the largest and smaller soccer balls.

Four different types of soccer ball were used for this experiment.
Testing and observation were done on a football and soccer ball with established markings notifying distance. The average distance for the Size 4 soccer ball was 27.6 yards. The size 5 soccer ball travelled an average distance of 26.6 yards, and the size 3 and size 2 soccer balls travelled an average distance of 22.8 and 21.6 yards respectively.
The size 4 soccer ball both very light, and has more surface area than soccer ball sizes which may have allowed it to travel a greater distance than the other soccer balls. The smaller soccer balls have a smaller surface area which makes it hard for the player to kick the ball at a greater distance. The larger size 5 soccer ball has a larger surface area, but weighs more than the size 4 soccer ball which may have lead the soccer ball to come just close to the distance to the size 4 soccer
ball. Procedure Evaluation: The technique of using the field for measuring the distance each ball travelled was efficient. There were at least two people watching were the ball bounced first on the field. Had their been only one person or relying on the kicker to calculate distance, there would have been major complication with the data’s validity. Getting respectable distances for the smaller soccer balls was very difficult. The smaller soccer balls with the balls smaller surface area, made the experiment difficult for the kicker to have good contact. This caused the trials to take longer than anticipated. If this were done again, a smaller kicker with smaller feet may have an easier time kicking the smaller balls to a respectable distance. Another improvement that can be done is using different size soccer balls with different materials. This may give a broader range of data and add validity to the experiment.
First off, when kicking a football, you have to factor in several things. You need to know what the distance is from the spot of the ball to the field goal and what direction you’re kicking the ball. You also have to factor in the direction the wind and how fast the wind is blowing. If the wind is blowing towards the field goal post, it will most likely increase the distance it will travel. If the wind is blowing away from the field goal post, the distance you can make a field goal will decrease.
...ow as well, which is why it’s so hard to actually throw the perfect ball. As I do the experiment, I will measure the distance each ball travels and find an average distance for each angle. This will give me my final analysis on which angle is best to throw a football the farthest.
...long enough. There are many factors that go into the perfect throw as well, but by changing up the experiment a little bit, I can make it so every attempt is the same, only changing the angle. As I do the experiment, I will measure the distance each ball travels and find an average distance for each angle. This will give me my final analysis on which angle is best to throw a football the farthest.
Soccer is a game that is played a lot on angles and measurements. Most wouldn’t think that angles come into play when playing soccer, they just kick it into the goal wherever they can. To make a good, precise shot, you must take into account where you are in relation to the goal, and decide what angle would be the best to aim and kick for. Where the kicker is standing in correlation to the goal plays a major factor on the difficulty of the shot. Also, if the kicker is a left or right footed kicker and what side of the goal they are on also plays an important factor...
In order to begin looking at the physics behind the trajectory of a kicked soccer ball we will start with seeing how Newton's Laws of Motion come into play. Newton's 1st law states that “any object at rest, will tend to stay at rest, and any object in motion, will tend to stay in motion unless acted on by an ...
The movement pattern of a soccer kick is a proximal to distal motion of the lower leg. Hip activation occurs to begin movement of the thigh through multiple planes. There is a backswing and a forward acceleration by the thigh, shank, and knee extensor. Where the ball ends up (accuracy), and how fast it moves (speed), depends mostly on foot to ball contact (Kellis & Katis, 2007).

To head, or not to head, that is the question In today’s world, the benefits of sports are huge. Sports are a way of teaching key skills that parents can’t such as sportsmanship, social values and many more. One of the most popular sports all over the world is soccer; hence soccer is the first sport that many children play and later on love. Within the past couple years, controversies have arisen over whether or not children should be heading the soccer ball while playing.
In the world of sport, soccer and football with respect to demographic has had numerous controversies. Although both sport are known famously around the globe, for many years fans from both sides are known for asking, is American football same as soccer? What’s the time limit on both sports? What’s the game objective? Do they use the same ball? However they both have similarities and differences which I will be talking about in this essay.
In conclusion, football and soccer have their similarities, but these similarities are superficial. There are many fundamental differences, such as the use of one’s hands being illegal in soccer, except for the goalie when he/she is inside his/her respective eighteen-yard boundary. Another example is the alternation of a team’s offense and defense in football as opposed to the simultaneous effort of the offense and defense in soccer. These differences in rules, rituals, and concepts distinguish these two sports from each other. However, there are similarities, such as the fact that both sports allow eleven players on each team to play on the field at a time. Also, the area where one scores is in the same locations in both sports, the end zones of football and the goals of soccer are on opposite sides of the field.
In the 19th century, soccer started to come to life in America. Some colleges started to play the game in the 1820s, with the first contest taking place at Harvard in 1827. Then, a huge invention took place in 1855. That year, the Charles Goodyear soccer ball was invented. Charles Goodyear created these soccer balls with vulcanized rubber. 12 years later in 1867, soccer took two huge steps. The first standardized soccer rules were published that year. Now, graduates from different schools could play together and had proper rules to follow when playing a game. But later that year, another just as, if not mor...
This investigation aims to determine the ideal air pressure inside and the ideal material of a ball in order for that ball to achieve its greatest bounce height. This report will be focusing on how the air pressure and material of a soccer ball, basketball and volleyball affects the bounce height of each ball.
Football is said to have originated from the Han Dynasty in China, from around two or three B.C. Although there is no specific creator of Football, there is evidence that the Chinese ‘dribbled’ balls made of various different animal skins filled with light-weight materials. After dribbling the ball, they were to kick the ball into a small net. Along with being a leisure activity for the ancient Chinese, evidence has been found that they also used it for training their vast army, the only difference in the training was the height of the nets. The balls were to be kicked into a net that was thirty feet or higher off the ground in order to make the Chinese army ready to move and also to make them stronger in the legs. Since the Chinese played ‘Football’ there have been many advancements in the game around the world and the rules have also changed greatly.
The amazing game of soccer is played in every continent, and is the world’s most popular sport. It is proven to be one of the number one sports to be played and watched. Because its fans and players are so devoted, the sport continues to grow. Requiring only a ball and open space, the activity is available to anyone, whether rich or poor, male or female, athletic or not. Over the years, soccer has won the hearts of many because of its unique history, many benefits, and notable achievements.
The laws of the football game were initially classified in England by The Football Association in 1863. ’’ 2. What is the difference between a GAMEPLAY Association football is played in agreement with a set of rules known as the ‘Laws of the Game’. The game is played using a sphere-shaped ball of 71 cm circumference, known as the ‘football’ or ‘soccer ball’.
