Small House Consider
Should people put lots of efforts to buy a house as big as possible, or should they consider the smaller kind? Have you ever noticed that our living space is narrowing down? With the development of economy, nowadays, the majority of people can afford to own a real estate. It is only a matter of the size. In the article “Home, Sweet Bungalow Home” from the book ‘Looking around’, the author Witold Rybczynski revealed his idea of the advantages of living in a small house. Now as the trend of society, the small house was accepted and more people begin to appreciate the benefits it brings to us. In general, a small property can proved feature as economization, time saving and, family bonding.
A house owner can spend tons of money on different aspect of the house; however, to own a smaller house can improve this condition. The listing price a small size property is usually lower and affordable. Therefor it requires fewer amounts of down payment and closing costs. These costs are even possible to be fully paid by your real estate proceeded sold earlier. Secondly, a big house demands much more maintenance fees and estate tax. At the end of each month, there will be more money saved in your pocket. Small property will also save the owner considerable utility costs, and you need to pay for home insurance costs will be less. Nevertheless, if the house is large, homeowners usually buy a lot of unnecessary stuff to decorate the house, such as huge murals, vases and so on. ...hed. There is more than enough space to puts furniture and fitment decorations. Small house, on the other hand, have a distinguish direction of design. According to the needs of the owner, small house has to carry its special characteristic, which is, space efficiency. The most famous design of space usage is a small apartment in Hong Kong. The designer has to deal with a space with a size of a one-car garage. For purpose of saving space, the designer hid most of the furniture like the bed and dining table and other electrical equipment in the wall. So they can get out of the way if they are not needed. The most interesting part of the design is people can never tell where is all the furniture. The room looks neat and also is fully functional. Instead of boring structure in the big house, this small house only feature really adds a big advantage on the small house.
One fundamental principle of the Tiny House Movement is that less equals more. Furthermore, the less space one acquires, his or her expenditures will likewise be lessened. By downsizing, owners "allot[s] one-third to one half of their income for the next 15 years for mortgage payments" (Maglalang 31). Due to the affordability, this comfortable style of living has become available to most citizens in the United States. Life in a tiny house provides a viable shelter that can accommodate all, even the underprivileged (Priesnitz 12).
Because of the high prices of homes in the United States, people often focus on only the buying price when considering the costs of owning a house, and neglect many other aspects of home ownership. A house is not your regular item that you buy and store or use for a limited amount of time. Houses come in a package with upkeep costs and taxes, and it’s wise to take these into account when analyzing your finances.
Having a house and having a home used to coincide. Families used to live in the same house for generations, but now the sentimental value of having a house has changed. As Quindlen puts it, “There was a time when where you lived often was where you worked and where you grew the food you ate and even where you were buried. When that era passed, where you lived at least was where your parents had lived and where you would live with your children when you became enfeebled” (Quindlen 215). However, over time even that changed. Now we have grown to live in a house and then move on like it was nothing. Sentimental value for a house has dwindled. Quindlen demonstrates that “suddenly, where you lived was where you lived for three years, until you could move on to something else and something else again” (Quindlen 215). However, for those without a house, they would give anything to have that sentimental feeling that used to come with having a house. But that’s just the problem; for most a house and a home no longer coincide. We can own a house but not have a home, or vice versa. After all, “Home is where the heart is. There’s no place like it” (Quindlen 214). People can have a home without having a house. A home simply means having a family,
A person’s home is a good representation of himself or herself. The way one takes care of their home can tell a story about the owner of the home and its residence. The members of the home may also affect the situations that take place, creating good or bad circumstances. In a story, a character's home does just that. The more or less elaborate it is explained, the more detail is presented about how the character is or will be. In “The House of Usher” and “The Yellow Wallpaper”, the elaborate descriptions of the characters and their homes set the story and can predict the outcome. A writer’s home and view of life may have a profound impact on their idea of home and therefore their writing that is produced.
...hey have entered the house, and then keeps it as you pass through the disappearing walls, pivoting doors, retractable stairs, and floating floors. It incorporates architecture, interior architecture and furniture design to create a total design that can be modified for different occupants. It truly is functional space.

When someone makes the decision to buy or rent a home they must consider the advantages and disadvantages of each. In buying a home the primary advantage is that you actually own it. You can do whatever you want with it. Also, you are building equity as the years go by. “People today have problems saving for their future” (CNN Money, 2014). However, when they buy a home, the money they put down for a down payment is an investment. When the person sells the home they get back the down payment and the amount the property has appreciated in value. When looking at the advantages of renting it is easy to see the disadvantages of buying for some people. Even though you don’t get the money back that you put into it, renting could be a more satisfying option for some. This is because renting allows for flexibility. The person can move wherever as soon as there lease is up. Renters may see buying as “a reduction in lifestyle, moving to a smaller place, and perhaps a less expensive neighborhood.” (CNN Money, 2014). For example someone who rents an apartment enjoys how the complex keeps up the area and all the amenities it has to offer, and it is in an upper class part of town. However, when they buy they looks all the benefits, they have to do maintenance themselves, and move to an area they don’t particularly like to fit their price range.
With the current economic status of the American nation, paying jobs are getting harder to find and keep, housing prices are skyrocketing, and many Americans are miserable, finding their lives in a rut. There’s little to no time to do what one loves or spend with one’s family, and the free chances one does get usually gets gobbled up by household work or maintenance. What if all that just went away? No more worry about filling up leftover space, more time to do what one wants to do, and more money to put towards something other than bills and debt? Tiny houses provide an alternative life-style that allows more funds, freedom, and is more eco-friendly than the average home.
... A home is a material object that exists within a concrete reality. It exists with its own qualities, a house built of materials that change and degrade over time. The costs of homeownership are harder to dismiss when one becomes disillusioned with the effects of a lack of attention to those costs. As someone with a passion for writing, my final project will be an extended expository essay about the history of homebuilding from ancient to modern times.
Buying and owning your home is part of the American dream. Although the dream itself has since changed, the home still remains the main focal point. Today owning a home doesn’t necessarily mean a house. People now buy duplexes, cooperative apartments, and condominiums. For some families it could take up to a couple of generations before it’s able to have the capabilities of buying a home. To many people it means a certain achievement that only comes after years of hard work. It is a life altering decision and one of the most important someone can make in their lifetime. The reasons behind the actual purchase could vary. Before anything is done, people must understand that it’s an extraneous process and it is a long term project.
An option for individuals look are looking to buy property have the option to purchase a house. The advantages are: “pride in ownership, privacy, own land, tax benefits, fixed rate, security, and can renovate to their desire. The disadvantages are: less flexibility, mortgage has interest, more stress about money, requires down payments, closing costs, and moving costs, need to have a fixed income/stable income, and bank may take over house if payments are not made” (Zillow, May 12th 2012 ). Pride of ownership is advantage because it gives those individuals accomplishment feeling and shows their hard work paid off and do not have to deal with landlords anymore” (Free Advise Staff, unknown date). Privacy is another advantage because it gives the homeowners the freedom to do whatever they wish and not worrying that they will break the rules. Owning land is an advantage because “every time you pay off your mortgage individuals are gaining equity and increasing your assets” (Chapman’s lecture, unknown date). Another advantage is individuals will get a “tax benefit which will help pay off the interest of the mortgage and increases income” (Kirlew, Unknown date). Security is an advantage because in the “long run if some individuals want to have kids those individuals do not have to worry about moving each year, but instead helps their children grow up in a ...
A house provides one with shelter from a multitude of things. A home not only offers a roof over your head, but when one returns to their home, they are at utmost peace. No matter how tired or weary they are or what problems they have come in with, a home gives them their own sanctuary. The difference between a house and a home is that a home comes with a sense of belonging. This attribute has a lot to do with the simple sense of feeling safe; wherever a person feels safe, that place becomes the root of a home, whether it is big or small. For instance, in the entire Harry Potter series, Harry believed that his school Hogwarts was his home because it was the one place in the entire world where he felt like he belonged. I...
“When it comes to interior design styles, give yourself the permission to think outside the box. There are so many wonderful ways to define who you are by creating a magnificent living space. Allow yourself to be creative. Be stylish. And when I say outside the box, I don’t necessarily mean go crazy, I simply suggest you take some steps to create the type of home that you really want or that your client is asking you to create” (Yule 1). Looking into interior design there are many elements that contribute to the way people view the room or area, such as the color, flooring, furniture, fabrics, and accessories in every room. Within the following research paper, interior design will be discussed by the interior design styles, the effects of color, and the trends of bathrooms.
