Embezzlement is the theft of money or property that belongs to someone else in the workplace.
Skimming is a technique that criminals use to acquire a victims credit card account information.

Employee theft is one of the most major crimes in the workplace. Embezzlement and skimming both have many cases across the world. Criminals use skimming in the workplace by using a small device called a skimmer. The skimmer scans the credit card’s magnetic strip and steals the information and that information is placed on another card and is used for purchases. The skimmer devices were placed in the local gas pumps of South Carolina and other with over $35,000 in money orders and cash. The credit cards had unauthorized account numbers re-encoded onto the magnetic strips. A few of the cards were wrapped in Victoria's Secret receipt and hidden under the car’s floor.
