When it comes to safety most people think they are safe, and they have a true understanding on how to work safe. Human nature prevents us from harming ourselves. Our instincts help protect us from harm. Yet everyday there are injuries and deaths across the world due to being unsafe. What causes people to work unsafe is one of the main challenges that face all Safety Managers across the world.
Several measures have been put in place to try and control safety concerns. The leading areas of concern is poor working conditions for drivers, driver exhaustion, hour of service, drivers shortages, fuels prices, driver
Therefore, it is the company’s responsibility and duty to inform the public about safety issues that come with lightweight cars, and leave the people with the freedom to choose whether or not they buy this product. Even though this process might decrease sales, however; the company’s superiors must put themselves in a position where someone offered them a product without informing them of their dangerous sides and refuse to do things to others what they refuse to be done on themselves.

Many issues and problems emerge in organizations that require action by leadership in order to maximize productivity. Because numerous decisions are made on any given day in an attempt for a school or organization to operate as smoothly as possible, constant effort and energy is required to monitor an organization’s culture. A problematic situation in my current organization that is rooted in employee motivation and attitudes is the lack of satisfaction communicated by group members. A year ago, the organization participated in a culture assessment that was conducted by the Kentucky School Boards Association (KSBA). This audit was ordered by our executive director because of the displeasure and dissatisfaction employees were communicating and displaying while at work. The
This concept as described in the article “Marketing Myopia” by Theodre Levitt suggests that “Sustained growth depends on how broadly you define your business – and how carefully you gauge your customer’s needs” and therefore executives should ask themselves the important question “What business are we in?”

Out of everything that we 've learned this quarter, goal setting was something that stood out to me. There are a few times where I set a goal in my head but end up never achieving them, wether it was something very simple or more of a long term goal. A technique that stood out to me in our notes is, writing down your goals. I don 't I 've ever written down a single goal that I 've had. In class and in our notes we talked about how it is important to write down your goals and how you cannot just write the general idea of your goal, but how you need to be very specific in what it is you want to achieve. I think that in college it 's very important to set long, mid, and short term goals because somedays will be harder than others and you need
Many people tend to set goals. They can set goals for their personal life, academics, or even for their professional lives. You can literally set a goal for pretty much anything you can imagine. I believe that people should set goals, they help you stay focused and want to do better for the future. Goals change all of the time though, because of a lot of different reasons, maybe you found that one thing just really is not what you want to do with your life, so you find something else to do. To me that is just how life is, my goals will most likely change as I am getting older and trying to find what I want to do with the rest of my life.
There comes a time in the life of a growing business when you, as its founder and top manager, realize the company has taken on a momentum of its own. You influence it, certainly, but more and more you are swept by it.” – John Peterman Before looking at how an entrepreneur manages a growing business, it is first important to understand that as companies mature, they go through different stages and that in each stage, the entrepreneur will experience different problems. Thus an entrepreneur MUST be ready with the proper knowledge and skills to address these problems. The growing stage of an entrepreneurial firm may be divided into two. These are the early and later growth stages. In the early stage, the business may have a tendency to over-commit its capabilities because it is sales driven as opposed to being profitable. In the later stage, the company becomes more focused creating its own vision of the future where emphasis is on profitability of each endeavor and not simply closing sales. To address these challenges, an entrepreneur must be aware of how to manage the growth without being entrenched in the workload that he has been accustomed to during the startup. Financial resources may also have to be reviewed as previous structures may not be able to cope with expansion demands. And as changes are continually being implemented, the entrepreneur must be able to monitor the improvements and downfalls of the new direction the organization is going through. Thus, during these crucial stages, an entrepreneur must focus his attention on the following three aspects of his business: People Controls Financing People During the early stages of an entrepreneurial firm, the business will need members that are compassionate to the growth of the business. A lot of flexibility will be needed as adjustments will have to be made. The people needed may not necessarily have high level competencies for certain skills but must definitely have the drive to push performance to a higher level. At this stage, hard work counts for more than experience. As the business grows, there will be a need for more specialized skills and possibly more competent members. An entrepreneur may look within his organization and promote high performing members or he may opt to look for those who can “hit the road running”.
Achieving any goal requires self-discipline. It involves a conscious awareness of our actions and the ability to overcome some of the bad habits that might be holding us. Instilling self- discipline into our lives is not easy task.
When planning for our future it is important to have clear goals in mind and to understand the steps that need to be taken to achieve those goals. My long-term goal is to run my own counseling center and employee at least one other person. Some Skills I already possess that will allow me to succeed with this plan are my ability to relate to people and be consistent in following the steps needed, even though it will be a long and tedious process.
I have discussed major safety topics including road and work safety and their effect in our daily living. We can’t evade from danger. The importance is that we learn to control and avoid factors that can cause us harm, injury or loss. This starts by making smart decisions. We should continue to teach our children to detect unsafe situations, places, things, and elements at an early age so that they practice safety habits throughout their life. In conclusion, is better to be safe than sorry.
