My family is similar to and different from the Finch family in several ways. My family includes my mom, my brother, and my dad, and some other close relatives. The Finch family consists of Scout, Jem, Atticus, and Aunt Alexandria. The Finch family in To Kill a Mockingbird is a very dynamic family with lots of different characteristics.
My family is similar to the Finch family because we are both very close. In To Kill a Mockingbird, they all live nearby each other and see each other a lot. In the Finch family, Scout, Jem, and Atticus live together in the same house and they depend on one another a lot. Scout turns to Atticus for comfort and Jem for when she is feeling sad and wants to play. In my family, we see each other for all the holidays and we talk to each other often. We also all live nearby each other so we get to see one another often just like the Finch family.

The Finch family is quite advanced for their time, especially Scout. She could read and write when she was just in the first grade and the rest of her classmates were just starting out. Atticus is also very intelligent. He is the most level headed and kind hearted person in the book. My family is also intelligent because my dad is a therapist and he has his masters degree in psychology so I really look up to him for advice. My grandpa quite an intelligent man as well; he has been a family doctor for pretty much his whole life and he just now retired.
