Have you ever read a legend before? Legends are traditional story, sometimes popularly regarded as historical but unauthenticated. Basically a legend is a made up story that could be true, but most likely isn’t. I will be showing you the similarities and differences of the legends “The Cat and Rat-Legend of the Chinese Zodiac” and “How cats and mice became enemies.” These stories are similar and different in many ways.
In the story “The Cat and Rat-Legend of the Chinese Zodiac” the cat and rat decided to join a competition to be on the Chinese Zodiac. The cat and rat decided to team up and and ride on the buffalo’s back to get across the river, while they were crossing the river rat pushed cat off the buffalo and betrayed cat and rat ending up getting first place and cat ending up losing. In the other story “How cats and mice became enemies” the rat and cat decided to cross the river to get to the village and they used a pumpkin boat to cross the river. When they were riding the boat cat was sleeping and the rat started to get hungry and he ate the boat, suddenly they started to sink and cat got mad at rat and chased him everywhere. That was basically what happened in the two stories. Overall, they are similar and different in many ways.

One similarity is in both stories the mouse betrayed cat. Some other similarity is both of the cats were bribed with fish to go across the river.
