There are so many musicians who play a variety of music styles in the world, so people can choose their own favorite musician through lyric, melody and music genre. I also have my most favorite two American musicians who positively affect my life overall. These two musicians are Jason Mraz and Bruno Mars. Although there are many differences such as their environment, style of music and performances, there are also many similarities between Mraz and Mars.
First, even though Mraz and Mars grew up in a different environment, they had the same passion for music as a young child. Mraz was born in 1977 and lived in Mechanicsville, Georgia. When he was five years old, his parents got divorced. His family was not in good condition to raise him, but he kept challenging himself to achieve his

dream of music for his adolescence.
Before Mraz became a popular singer, he usually busked and sang songs in cafés and performed in a small scale live performance to build his musical skills. In contrast, Mars had an excellent musical family background that could help him to improve music skill during his childhood. Mars was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on September 8, 1985. His mother was a dancer and vocalist, and his father used to play Rock and Roll music. His uncle also was a celebrity who was a copycat of Elvis Presley. Therefore, Mars had many opportunities that he could easily have been exposed to many various types of music and learned. The most special thing about Mars was that he had a great talent for music since he was a child. Thus, Mars worked as a music producer in Motown Records as soon as he graduated from High school so that he
could improve musical craft professionally. Despite their dissimilar backgrounds, both Mraz and Mars devoted their passion to learning music in order to accomplish their goal of being a good singer. As a result, they became really successful singer-songwriters. Mars got twenty two musical awards such as MTV music award, Billboard music award, Teen choice award and Grammy award until 2014. Likewise, Mraz also won two Grammy awards and two People choice awards. Moreover, their stage manners are quite similar even though their performances are a little bit different. Mars’s performance, especially his music video, usually has the splendid and complex appearance, and shows that Mars dances with joy. In his latest work “Uptown Funk”, his music and performance was so exciting and reminded me of Michael Jackson. In contrast, Mraz’s performance is more tranquil than Mars’s. He usually performs his song as delicate and exquisite. I feel that Mraz’s music style is simpler than Mars’s music style. Although their performances are not similar, they show some kind of common things. For instance, they play prank just like teenagers, and they can play a lot of different types of instruments. They are both very professional on stage as well. They know how to capture their audiences’ mind and how to communicate with their fans through jocular mood in their concerts. The one thing that I was surprised by is that they are both really popular even in my country, South Korea, to perform a concert. Though they performed in a foreign country, they treated Korean audiences in a friendly manner. This is another reason why I like them more than any other musicians in the USA. Since their performing style is different, their singing style is also different. Mraz frequently sings quiet emotional songs, so listeners can easily feel sympathy, familiarity and comfort. On the contrary, Mars usually sings more vibrant and lively songs than Mraz does. When people listen to Mars’s songs, his songs make them want to dance. Even if their singing styles have some differences, both have their own specific, unique and sweet voices when they sing a song. They also influence many diverse music genres for people who are yearning for listening varied music. Whenever I feel blue, sometimes, I listen to Mraz’s songs so that I can relax. Whenever I want to feel excitement, I usually listen to Mars’s songs. Both singers have very unusual talent. Their songs always touch my heart and give me some delight. Though I actually love listening to a variety of music of different musicians, those two singers are particularly more significant to me. If I have to choose my favorite singers, I will choose Jason Mraz and Bruno Mars without any hesitance.
While Eminem portrays himself as being from Detroit, he is actually from Missouri. He moved back and forth between Detroit, Michigan and Kansas City, Missouri for most of his childhood. At the age of seventeen, Eminem started getting serious about wanting to be a rapper, giving himself the nickname M&M (meaning Marshal Mathers) and later decided to change the spelling to Eminem with the second E backwards as part of his trademark. He failed 9th grade 3 times, then dropped out, “School wasn’t for me” (Eminem). An education was the last thing on his mind. After throwing himself into the rap world on many levels, usually being shut down, he kept trying.

We all have music artists that we love to listen to over and over again about one hundred times, we stand in long lines to watch them live in concerts even though the ticket prices may be so expensive or may even watch their music videos an exaggerated amount of times just so that they can get the views. The point I’m trying to make is that we all have our favorites artists such Beyoncé, Kanye West, Bruno Mars, or even lady gaga but my favorite artists are hands down K.Michelle and Tamar Braxton. These ladies are so Similar but yet so different and have achieved great things in life.

In the same fashion that Elvis defined Rock ‘n’ Roll; Tupac Shakur defined the hip-hop music scene, as we know it today. What made Tupac (also known as 2Pac, or Makaveli) so special were his enormous talent, his on screen friendly looks, and the sense that he was “real” and talked the talk, while walking the walk. Tupac was born on June 16, 1971, Tupac Amaru Shakur. He was named after Tupac Amaru, the Inca Indian that was sentenced to death by the Spaniards. He was originally from Brooklyn, New York. Tupac spent a lot of time moving around as he was growing up. He was the son of a Black Panther activist Afeni Shakur and Billy Garland. Tupac moved from Harlem, to Baltimore, to Oakland. The constant moving caused Tupac to fit into his new communities by joining gangs, and his lengthy rap sheet was created even before his profalic entry into music and film. There was a certain ambience between the curtains and the French windows, there was a certain sound there for a ten-year-old. That was all the ambience I got at ten years old... I think!
