Judaism and Christianity are both monotheistic religions, this means they both only believe
their is one God. The Jewish name for God is Yehweh, it is roughly translated from the
Hebrew bible, Christian's believe the name for their God is Adonai.
The main founder of Judaism was Moses but some say another founder is Abraham.
Christianity was founded by many people but the primary founder would have been Jesus
on his quest to spread the word of God. The Jewish holy book is the Torah and the holy
book for Christianity is the Holy bible, the texts are studied and the teachings are practised
at holy places, Christians pray at holy places known as churches whereas people of the
Jewish community pray at synagogues.

this star is know as the Star of David, if it is worn on a person it represents their Jewish heritage. In Christianity their symbol is a cross, the cross represents Jesus who was crucified on a cross and his resurrection from being crucified.
Some holy sites of Judaism include The Temple Mount, this temple is considered to be the
most holy place in Judaism. Many Jews come to the temple to pray but due to its extreme
sanctity many Jews will not go to the mount as they try not to unintentionally enter the area
of which the "Holy of Holies" stood
Jerusalem is the holiest place in Christianity as many biblical events are said to have taken
place in Jerusalem, Jews and Christians alike have a view of Jerusalem being one of he
most holy places as scripts from their holy books have been depicted in Jerusalem. Both
religions believe in the Old Testament which mention Jerusalem a lot. Jews are connected
to Abraham because he is considered to be the founding father of the Covenant, the
Covenant is a unique and special relationship between God and all the Jewish people.
Christians believe that Abraham is the prototype of all believers.
Some Christian festivals include Good Friday which is a festival to celebrate the memorial
of Jesus's death by crucifixion, Easter Sunday is held in April, this festival is the greatest
Christian festival as it celebrates the resurrection of Jesus, Every Sunday in April is a
day to commemorate his resurrection, in Judaism some major festivals/ holidays are Passover, Passover is a time when people celebrate to commemorate the liberation of the children of Israel who were led out of Egypt by Moses. Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish new year, this festival commemorates the creation of the world and begins with the ten days of self examination. These two religions are very similar as they both have a god even though their gods may be different, Their holiest place is the same as their book has the same contents. Their books help to guide them and their places of worship help guide them to fulfil their religious destiny. Their connections to Abraham both have special meanings to them as he was more or less a stabiliser in their religion. Their festivals/ holidays both have special meanings which help keep the memories of their religion alive. Sources: primaryhomeworkhelp.co
Jerusalem or Zion, is where the church of Jesus Christ got their stard. But in apostolic time a different city came to overshadow Jerusalem in some respects. The city of Antioch, capital of the Roman province of Syria.
In Islam, their communities are called ummah. Their mosque is in the center, and cities are constructed around it. This symbolizes a life built around faith. In the Nation of Islam, their temple is also their sense of community. Though their cities are not physically around the temple, their social and spiritual lives are centered there. With school, religious services, banquets, etc. the whole community of believers sees the temple as a common ground and gathering place.
People are in search of understanding life and the happenings that surround them. When things go wrong, people turn to God for hope and understanding. As we look at the Jewish and the Christian faiths, both of which trace their origins back past Abraham and Moses, to the original stories of the Garden of Eden, we notice basic similarities and major differences between the two religions. The three main differences between Jewish and Christianity is the concept of God, judgment, and salvation. The most eminent difference between both religions is the concept of God. Christianity believes that God is trinity which means three persons in one the father, the son and the holy spirit. However Judaism sees God as a single entity, and viewsTrinitarianism as a violation of the Bible's teaching that ...
While Christianity places emphasis on focusing on the New Covenant as told through Jesus Christ, Judaism places its emphasis on right conduct that is recorded in the Torah and Talmud. Christians believe in individual salvation from sin through repentance and receiving Jesus Christ as their God and Savior through faith. Jews believe in individual and collective participation with God through tradition, rituals, prayers and ethical actions. Christianity believes in a triune God, one person of whom became human, whereas Judaism emphasizes the oneness of God and rejects the Christian concept of God in human form. Judaism and Christianity share the belief that there is One, True God, who is the only one worthy to be worshipped. Both Judaism and Christianity believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, for Jews the God of the Tanaka and for Christians the God of the Old Testament, the creator of the universe. In both religions, offenses against the will of God are called sin. These sins can be thoughts, words, or
On the other hand, Christianity traces its origin from Jesus Christ from whom the disciples, at Antioch, were first called Christians due to their manner of living, which was like Jesus Christ’s. Both Christians and Jews believe in one God who is called Jehovah; however, the point of divergence is that while Christians believe in the trinity (that is, God is one substance but three persons in one namely the Father, Son and Holy Spirit), the Jews believe in God being just one substance one
Both the Dome of the Rock, located in Jerusalem created in 687 AD with no artist, and the Acropolis, located in Athens Greece created in 450BC with no artist but commissioned by Pericles, are demonstrations of Sacred spaces that demonstrate different practices from two different cultures.

These three major religions also share a belief that there is one major area that they claim as their Holy Land. The Jews and the Christians claim Jerusalem, Israel as there Holy Land while the Islamic people claim Mecca, Saudi Arabia. These places are where the people believe that ...
The Temple on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem, the center of Jewish observance, had been taken over by the Greeks for the worship of their gods almost 2,000 years ago, and since Israel was under Greek rule, many Jewish practices had been outlawed. The Greeks destroyed sacred scrolls, books and the inside of the Temple.
Althoughthe two religions share some of the same beliefs, there are vital differences between the two. Judaism is called the religion of the Jews and was the first faith to believe in one God. Christianity then followed that belief. Both religions are based on monotheism (that there is only one God).
To the pre-diasporic Jews, Jerusalem had more reasons of importance than there are stars in the sky. No single place is more important to Judaism than Jerusalem; the city encompasses all that there is to be both a Jew and a member of that nation. To the Jews, Jerusalem is the land promised to them by God (Genesis 12:1-9). Many talmudic scholars also believe that the spiritual center of the city, the Temple Mount, is also Mount Moriah, which is where Abraham sacrificed Isaac to God and the Covenant between God and Abraham began (Hoppe, p.6). The temple mount is also, of course, where Solomon built his Temple to God, and where Herod rebuil...
that exists and this can be read in the sacred texts, the Koran and the Bible. For all three monotheistic religions, God is the only one that can be considered as the Creator of the Universe, the All-Powerful and the venerable divine being that is gracious and merciful. They also accept the fact that this god is the same God that Abraham worships as stated in the Old Testament. This particular similarity between these three religions has given them the name “the Abrahamic religions” by some experts. Despite the varying names these three religions have for this particular god, in essence, they are one at the same. Abraham is also considered the father to the children of God, which are often referred to as the people of Israel. (Lin) What differs in the three religion’s concept of God is how they advocate them. One can see that Christianity and Judaism are close to their belief of God. They noted that Je...
Islam teaches that there is one God: the creator and sustainer of the universe, who is compassionate and just. He calls all the people to believe in Him and worship Him. When someone disobeys the Lord, they may be forgiven if they sincerely repent. In Christianity, the first, and most important of the Ten Commandments states that "I am the Lord thy God." Thou shalt have no other gods before me."
In Jewish midrash, the rabbinic teaching and preaching on the scriptures, it is said that Israel is at the center of the world. At the center of Israel is Jerusalem. At the center of Jerusalem is the temple. At the center of the temple is the holy place. At the center of the holy place is the ark, the presence and glory of God.
Easter is a religious holiday that celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ three days after his death by crucifixion about 2,000 years ago. For Christians, Easter is a day of religious services and the gathering of family. In many churches, Easter comes after a season of prayer, abstinence, and fasting called Lent. This is observed in memory of the 40 days fast of Christ in the desert. In Eastern Orthodox churches, Lent is 50 days.
