There always seems to be a disadvantage to time travel. No matter who you are, where you come from, or the reason you’re going, there’s always something to mess it up, but there’s always something you can do to make things better.
Kindred is a novel about a woman named Dana who teleports from the present year 1976 to the past whenever her ancestor Rufus needs help. Back to the Future is a movie about a teenage boy named Marty who travels to 1955 accidently. Dana & Marty have a few similarities in their lives. They both have to adapt to the society they time travel to, make their ancestors stay together, and both have to face a challenge before the return to their present time.
One similarity between Dana and Marty is that

they both have to adapt to society. In the beginning of Kindred, Dana gets mistaken for a man because of the pants she was wearing “You were wearing pants like a man, the way you are now” (pg. 22) it proves that Dana is going to have to find a way to adapt to her surroundings very soon. She later on receives a blue dress from one of her ancestors named Alice. (pg. 165) In the beginning of the movie Back to the Future, Marty’s first time travel adventure to 1955, the DeLorean used to time travel crashes into a family’s barn. The family is awoken by the disturbance and come to see what has occurred. In the moments of the family investigating, a little boy in the family pulls out a comic book with the cover have an alien’s ship and a creature standing beside it in a yellow suit. Coincidently Marty is wearing a similar suit and steps out of the DeLorean. The family assumes that he is an Alien and run back to their house leaving Marty confused. Later on in the movie Marty mentions John F. Kennedy when at the time of his journey John F. Kennedy was not president and wasn’t very known. Another similarity between Dana and Marty is that they both have to make their ancestors stay together.
Dana has to make sure Rufus and Alice fall in love so her Grandmother Hagar Weylin will be born. (pg. 28) She goes to Alice to tell her that Rufus wants Alice to go to him and that if she doesn't Alice will be beaten again. (pg. 66) Although Marty’s ancestors are different he accidentally ends up in the moment where his father is almost hit by his grandfather's car. Instead of his father being hit by the car which is what was supposed to happen Marty pushes his father out of the way and ends up being hit by the car instead. He is knocked out and ends up in his mother’s family’s house and his mother starts to take care of him. She eventually falls in love with Marty which is affecting Marty’s future rapidly. His mother being in love with him also makes her want to go to the school dance with him instead of his father which is where his father and mother first kiss. Marty does everything he can to convince his father to ask Lorraine (his mother) to the dance so he can fix his future before it’s too late. Events get in the way of his father asking but eventually an event happens where Marty’s father stands up to his bully, Biff. He punches him and Lorraine finally goes to the dance with Marty’s father. Lorraine and George (Marty’s father) finally kiss and Marty’s future is repaired. Marty finally goes back to 1985 but his family is drastically different. They are more well-dressed and professional looking than they were
before. A final point of comparison between Dana and Marty us that they both have to face a challenge before they return to their own time. Dana has a decision whether to kill Rufus or not. She knows Rufus is hurting her and he will continue if she lets this go on. (pg. 260) She decides to stab him and finally end her suffering. (pg. 260) she eventually returns to her present time with Kevin and tries to find evidence of Rufus’ death but all she found was a report in the newspaper that he died in a house fire. (pg. 263) Marty’s challenge is very different from Dana’s and it involves him getting back to 1985. The DeLorean won’t start and Doc accidentally disconnects the contraption that he made. Thankfully before the lightning hits Doc connects the contraption back together and the lightning hits the contraption and Marty is sent home. Although there are many troubles along the way. Dana’s & Marty’s love for family works out in the end. They adapt to their societies, their ancestors are together, and they both get through the challenges that they had to face. There’s always something good to come after something bad.
The books, A Wrinkle in Time and And Then There Were None, both have many differences in the movie versions. The directors of both movies change the plot to make the movie see fit to what they may have imaged the book to be, while still keeping the story line the same.
In the story, Kindred, an African American woman named Dana is transported back in time to save her uncle from death. However, Dana faces a moral dilemmas that lead her to change the lives of the people around her. Dana must choose to let Rufus die and stop the abusive acts he commits, or to let Rufus live in order to protect the other people who live on the farm. If Dana chooses to live, the abuse towards her and Alice will continue. The abusive acts Rufus does has both a physical and social effect on Alice and Dana. Because Rufus gets abusive if Alice refuses to have sex with him, she has no choice but to continue along. Also, Dana will receive punishment because she refuses to cater to Rufus’ wishes. But if Dana lets Rufus live, the families,
Many science fiction shows, films, and novels today have been influenced by science fiction novels from the past. A few examples are Frequency,The Butterfly Effect, and A Sound of Thunder relating to A Sound of Thunder by Ray Bradbury. These films all express Bradbury’s idea of the butterfly effect and that time traveling can change the past, therefore changing the future. Although they share the same idea, they each have different outcomes.
Another example is when Chance watches television. In the book, the narrator explains that when Chance changes the channel, he feels like he is changing himself. As he changes the channel, he gets caught up in all the different images he sees. In the movie, all you see is a man watching television, which doesn't explain too much. In the movie, the only time we find out what Chance thinks of television is when he is talking to someone else.
Have you ever wondered whats out there in the universe if so a wrinkle in time dose just that. The book and movie are about a girl named meg and a boy named Charles Wallace go on a wild adventure along with there friend Calvin O’Keefe and the three W’s with are Mrs.Who, Mrs.Whatsit, And Mrs.Which .A wrinkle in time book and movie are very similar in many ways but they also have lots of differences .This is so because lots of things can be done in the movie but not all things like the rainbow wings for the creature mrs. Whatsit transforms into. This is not possible in the movie because they didn't have good CGI's back then so if they did make the wings into rainbows if so would take hours upon HOURS to create that. Although this essay in not going to be all about differences because that could go on and on forever there are also similarities.
The Past is what makes us who we are today. Our experiences from childhood through to adulthood make up our coping mechanisms for future situations, and even if we have dealt with issues that may arise, they will still remain in our conscious and unconscious minds such as a boat moves across the current, it requires constant moving forward to prevent drifting backwards. In the novel ‘The Great Gatsby’ written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gatsby started off with nothing but a big set of goals and dreams, he pushed his way to get to that goal, leaving his past behind only worrying about the future and when he finally obtained his goal he got caught up and started to think about the past with Daisy and ended up meeting her.
A Wrinkle in time similarities and differences between them both the book and the movie
Most books have a movie to go with them. For example “The Giver”, the giver has a book and a movie to go with it. The Giver is written by a well-known author named Lois lowry. The book and the movie were not word for word the same but they both were still interesting to read and watch. The book and the movie had some big and small differences and similarities. Today i’m only gonna inform you about the big differences and similarities.
The protagonists in “The Hobbit” and “Leaf by Niggle”, Bilbo and Niggle, have very similar traits, skills and characteristics, but yet are also different in numerous ways. Both characters being non-traditional heroes had to develop their heroic characteristics like kind-heartedness, determination and creativity, by facing and overcoming adversity and obstacles. Both characters had long journeys ahead of them selves before they could be called a hero. Not being born a hero meant that these two protagonists began there journeys as modest and timid people. But after completing there their quests, they became sacrificial and well respected heroes. As all heroes have adventures like our protagonists they must face great obstacles that may seem impossible to overcome, but with the character traits and qualities that they posses or acquire throughout their

The Hero’s journey in The Hunger Games, Star Wars, and A Wrinkle in Time have numerous similarities and a couple of different differences that are key to the stories/movies. With these different points, the best to work through, with some of the best correspondence and comparison between the three would be, the ordinary world, call to adventure, and mentor helper.
Most definitely the outcome would be changed but for better or worse is never really known. Like, for example, a young girl gets in a car crash while on her phone, then she goes back in time to when she first got in the car. She never gets on her phone and she avoids the crash all together because she now sees
...from the future has given us the secrets to do so? Is it because the future has not been acted out yet? Or has it been, and we are simply the past, seeing it as the present? Time travel has been a long debated subject. One such debate is, can it even be done? Many models of the big bang suggest that it can, while the theory of relativity says that it cannot be done.
I had made myself the most complicated and the most hopeless trap that a man devised. (Time Machine, pg.48) H.G Wells's Time Machine gave the nineteenth century society an insight into what the future holds, and shared that people should be afraid of the effects of science because science could end one's life. The Time Traveller in Time Machine returns to tell his adventures, which none of his friends believed. Thus, he was so determined to bring back proof, that he went to the future. However, during his second journey in time, the Time traveller "just vanished three years ago, and as everybody knows now, he has never returned." (Time Machine pg.117)
