Introduction: No doubt, the subject of psychology has always remained of great importance, but in recent past, the subject has become more popular as we see number of movies being made on the matter. Recent media depicts abnormal psychology as an emerging sector to the plots of movies, with the list including Silver Linings Playbook, The Hunger Games, American Hustle, Shutter Island, Memento, Ghajini etc. and the list continues. For the purpose of this research paper, I chosen Shutter Island that depicts the psychological issues faced by a US Marshall Teddy Daniels (role played by Leonardo Di Caprio), while he investigates the sudden disappearance of mentally challenged lady Rachel Solondo on a secluded island. The island is famous for captivating and treatment of psychologically challenged individuals, who have performed most heinous crimes in their lives. While the story unfolds the realities, after Rachel Solondo is found, the audience comes to realize that US Marshall Teddy Daniels is himself facing the severest of psychological issues and problems and infact one of the prisoners of that rehabilitation and lock up centre. Delusional Disorder: Teddy faces the delusional disorder, as the US Marshall believes himself to be the successful case solver and that the doctors and orderlies at the mental asylum are not telling him the truth. Coming across the scrip writing The Law of 4 Who is 67?, he starts believing that actual count of 66 patients at the asylum is wrong and that doctors are hiding another patient from him. He believes doctors are lying to him and strives to solve the mystery of missing patient. Furthermore, he treats the doctors and orderlies with suspicion and doubts their intentions by assuming that the place is meant to do some experiments on him and that all the cigarettes, medicines he was given were contaminated for the
