Performance enhancing drugs (Peds) have been around for centuries, most of the time they have been illegal, but early in the time these illegal drugs were encouraged! People were doing all types of drugs, such as,Cannabis, Anabolic steroids and many more. These drugs only became important when people started realizing that they were causing diseases and certain cancers. This is why laws need to be changed. I believe that performance enhancing drugs are bad for you, and cause disease which is why the world of sports should handle this situation differently. My reason for stating this is because steroids can harm you in future instances. Such as give you a heart attack, give you diseases, and can even cause/ trigger cancer. These steroids can have many bad side effects, but different in each gender. Such as in males, some side effects are, enlarged breasts, shrinking of the testicles, and baldness. As for women side effects are, voice deepening, decreased breast size, coarse skin, and excessive body hair growth. There are also other side effects in both genders, such as, severe acne and cysts, oily scalp and skin, heart attacks and artery damage. “ Serious and life-threatening adverse effects may be underreported, especially since they may occur many years later.
