Immigration is a huge topic in the United States of America. From the government to a school in Sun Valley Idaho “immigration” is talked about and debated about. There is one side to the debate and its , all immigrants are allowed to have access to the American Dream and the other side being , immigrants are not allowed to have access to the American Dream. The American Dream means that you have the access to freedom, equality, and the pursuit of happiness. I think that all people and immigrants should have the access to the American Dream. The first reason I think everyone should have the access to the American Dream is because this country was built on immigrants (Smith 21). When pilgrims came from Europe or other places there were considered immigrants. They built this country so why shouldn't immigrants be allowed now? America is called the “land of opportunity” so why shouldn't immigrants be given the opportunity of freedom, justice, equality, and the right to pursue happiness?(Smith 21) When immigrants or people come to this country they also bring their culture and knowledge. “More than 43.7 million immigrants resided in the United States in 2016”(Zong and Batalova). Part of the better life meaning a good job. A job that can support their families. Immigrants come here looking for any job they can get so a majority take the hard agricultural jobs that require hours and hours of work and with little pay (Smith 21). Most Americans don't even want these jobs so why are all the Americans whining. Also, you have to work for a job, it doesn't come easy so if an immigrant is working harder they deserve the job. Agricultural jobs are a huge part of our economy so immigrants aren't making it worse, if anything there making it
