Imagine a world where anyone who wants to learn can go to college without worrying about the money. That’s why free college matters. I am going to argue in favor of making college free. That’s because it helps everyone have a fair chance to learn, lets students concentrate on studying instead of money problems, and makes our country smarter and better. College should be free because it gives everyone a fair chance to learn, helps families save money, and makes our society better. The reasoning behind this is that accessible education allows individuals from all socioeconomic backgrounds to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to contribute effectively to the economy. When higher education is financially accessible, more people can pursue advanced degrees and training, leading to a more skilled and productive environment. In lots of places like the US, college costs have gotten high, putting students in big debt. If college was free, more people could go to college without worrying about money and help make things better for themselves and everyone around them. Research says that when college is free, more people go to college and finish their studies (Dynarski, 2020). For example, in Germany, where college is free, almost 70% of young adults attend college, while in the US, only about 40%. The evidence is that when college is free, more people can go, finish their studies, and get better jobs. This is important because it means everyone gets a fair chance to learn and help make the country
