Male or female, young or old, at one time in each of our lives, we have all wondered what it would be like to have a beard. I am no exception to this rule, and have ventured into the world of facial hair. Bestowed upon me at a relatively young age was the ability to grow a plenary beard with ease. Although I have used this skill to my advantage numerous times, I have also have had to remove said beard just as often. Some may think that shaving a beard is not a difficult or strenuous task, but I can assure you that nothing could be further from the truth. Shaving a beard is a delicate and precise process that must be completed carefully. Shaving is a process which requires intense focus and skill so as not to hurt oneself or ruin the beard. That being said, it is paramount that one does mess something up. The process of shaving is not complete until the beard has been cut to the incorrect length or is uneven. Having the incorrect setting on your razor is important here, which is why the first step is one that cannot be performed in a myopic mindset. Now you can continue shaving the beard, adjusting the setting on your razor appropriately. Once you have successfully failed at shaving your beard evenly, you can proceed into the next step of shaving, which is mourning. A beard is a friend and partner until it is completely removed, after which it is a great loss. You may receive a variety of comments from peers after such a loss, some good and others bad. What I have found though, is that most enjoy the presence of a beard. What the reasoning behind this is, I am not sure, but be prepared to hear "Oh, no! You shaved your beard!" During the mourning step, you have another chance to sing a song in your beards honor. Although still unnecessary, this step is highly encouraged, and almost an unspoken
