Recommended: Essays on why shark culling must be banned

The first groups/people that I have chose that are for shark culling are the Western Australian Government including WA premier Colin Barnett and a lady called Krystle Westwood. The reason KryColin Barnett and the Western Australian Government wants to cull sharks is because innocent civilians are being scared, harrassed and potentially bitten and killed by sharks at local crowded beaches. One of the main jobs that the Western Australian Government has to do is to keep their people safe, and if their people are in danger they will do almost anything in order to keep them safe. He was a talented surfer and loved by many. Although this was the way Chris wanted to ‘go’ (die), this has brought Krystle onto the other side of the fence to go for shark culling. When Colin Barnett said although he doesn’t want to kill sharks, "Protection of human life comes first. We need to look at taking a stricter, stronger stance when it is a looming threat. We do need to be prepared for any sharks that have attacked or are a direct danger to anyone who is using our coastline. We are doing research, we are doing surveillance and we are providing more resources to surf lifesaving clubs." Barnett decided he wanted to insert drum lines into some of the more crowded beaches near Perth.
