Introduction: Issues of violence and safety on the campus.
On many campuses today, the issues of sexual violence against women have been a major topic and area of focus. It is reported that 1 in every 3 women face sexual assault in America and this also includes women who attend university. To address this significant issues, the United States’ Congress has held hearings and proposed legislation to address to the issue of sexual assault against females on campus. Whether it is date rape violence or other forms of sexual coercion, the issue of rape against women is a very important issue of campus security that can only be handled with increased education for both women and men in regard to sexual assault.

Safe campuses promote the safety of students in every aspect of the collegiate experience. The leadership role maintained by top administrators must take the lead for ensuring that universities have the proper measures in place to prevent violence against students. It’s imperative to note that the highest incident of violence on any campus will be sexual assaults. This has been an epidemic for many decades but many universities fail to accurately report their incidents of sexual assault. Only after extensive scrutiny has been placated on this crime by the media has the issue become a major topic in the lexicon of politics.
