The sexual assault on college campuses is a problem that needs to be consulte more. In their freshmen year of college one in five women are sexually assaulted. Many women know that they will not get the help that they require as well as knowing the victim will not get punished the way that they should, therefore they do not report the crime of being assaulted. This leads women to think about or actually go through with committing suicide. There is a mixture of causes that leads to the sexual assault to occur. One of them being in an environment such as a party where there is alcohol. Men will look for women that are drinking a lot of alcohol. They look for that so that they can slip a drug into it that will put the women into almost an unconscious …show more content…

Many of the freshmen will then experiment and go off to parties, because they are new they are great targets for someone to slip something into their drink and for them to become a victim of sexual assault. Sexual Assault on college campuses is caused by a mixture of many reasons. One of them being Alcohol. During their freshmen year of college 15 percent of women are raped while they are using/ drinking alcohol or drugs. When you mix young adults with alcohol, drugs and their sexual desires, it will most likely end up with some form of sexual assault happening. There are other reasons why sexual violence is occurring “ A student’s view on alcohol, for instance, is important. Young women who said that they believe that drinking enhances sexual experiences were at greater risk”. Going back to having this new level of freedom from your parents, there are many parties that take place on a college campus. Which means there is a lot of illegal drinking that is going on. Many of the perpetrators will hang out around that area and slip drugs into the alcohol that the woman are drinking. This makes the college campuses the best place for a perpetrator to hang out and seek his next victim.Overall the cause of sexual assault is a mixture between alcohol, drugs, and the sexual desires of the young
