Human sexuality ranges from issues of love, relationships, adult sexual behaviors and attitudes, sexual orientation, sexual assault, sexual variants, sexual transmitted diseases, and so much more. When it comes to Sexual assault it is an issue nationwide, whether some feel that it is an epidemic or not. This paper is going to describe sexual assault among undergraduates, the lack of support victims receives, the campus and community environments, and the results for the victim. While dealing with the offender is important, it is just as important on how the victim is taken care of. Some universities feel that sexual assault is not a problem and if it is a problem, the university’s reputation is more important than that of a student. Not all campus environments are supportive and not all provide the means to ensure the student has what he or she needs to feel safe again on campus. By men not receiving the support that is needed and necessary, it causes men to be less likely to report a crime of sexual assault on a college campus. Not only is more education needed to inform campuses of male sexual assault, but more means are needed to make males feel just as comfortable as females in order for males to receive the necessary support. Though research has been conducted on many different occasions and different results have come from that research, it is still known that sexual assault exists. 14% of males have been forced to engage in sexual contact, while 21% of fraternity college males have reported experiencing some form of unwanted sexual contact (Allen, 2015). While sexual assault is more common among women, researchers come to the common conclusion that sexual is an issues on college campuses. They have yet to see a decline in their research, but by finding positive ways to help ensure the safety of students it adds to ways to try to prevent incidents from reoccurring. Researchers found that 3 aspects can help make a victim feel comfortable to seek help by recognizing and defining the problem, making a decision to seek help, and to select a particular type of source and support (Allen, 2015).
