ON ENHANCING SELF-ESTEEM AMONG ENGINEERING STUDENTS Abstract: Self-Esteem means an essential human need that is vital for survival and normal healthy development. It arises automatically from within based upon a person's beliefs and consciousness. Self-Esteem occurs in conjunction with a person's thoughts, behaviours, feelings, and actions. It is a feeling of personal capacity, self-respect, personal worth and how one feels about it. This article tries to explore some existing factors for having low self-esteem as well as some intervention strategies in the application of group activities in engineering colleges with the aid of observation, and self-assessment scale.
